Re: Official Seattle Seahawks Thread
I love the Wilson move, and cutting TO. And..thank you, TJack for showing so much heart last season. Best of luck to you.
Now...please hold on to Flynn! Great backup situation there, I hope he'll be willing to stay on a #2 for awhile. I think they might restructure his (and Wilson's) contracts. But if Flynn really wants to start somewhere next year, well, that's up to him and Pete and John.
I think it's go time! I'd like to see us draft a top end receiver next offseason and a great linebacker, we should be good to go!GO 'HAWKS!

I know everyone is all on Wilson's jock, but I am just not buying in. I don't think enough people in Seattle have learned the lesson Justin Forsett taught us about preseason. Forsett had an amazing rookie preseason campaign and look at what he did when it counted. I'm just not buying in until we are in week 6 and he is in the hunt for rookie of the year. If that happens, then I will eat crow. But until then, I am not buying into the Russell Wilson hype.12th Man and proudComment

Perfectly fine to be skeptical. However, Russell Wilson has shown everything in preseason that he did while at Wisconsin: strong arm, accurate, athletic, great leadership. And while preseason should be taken with a grain of salt, I'd rather he play well in preseason than otherwise. And by all accounts, he seems to have done well in practice as well.
I think the potential reward justifies the risk of starting himComment

I don't feel bad for Flynn. He was brought in to compete for the starting job with zero guarantees. He lost to a guy that Pete Carroll was skeptical of and had to be convinced by Schneider to draft. Plus there are no guarantees Wilson is going to succeed. Flynn better be mentally ready, if he isn't, then he's not NFL QB material.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Official Seattle Seahawks Thread
Yippee. He practices great.
Again....Justin Forsett racked up almost 300 all purpose yards in a single game against the Bears in the pre season.. How good of a running back did he turn into?
Until Wilson takes a snap in the regular season where guys are trying to remove his head from his shoulders, he hasn't done squat.
Hitting 70% of passes in practice means nothing. Throwing for 1000 yards and 17 touchdowns in a pre season game means nothing.12th Man and proudComment

I'm curious, what exactly has Flynn done to earn the starting job in your opinion?Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Official Seattle Seahawks Thread
Here is a perfect example of being "on his jock"
Just saw a commercial on the local Fox station for the last preseason game in which "Russell Wilson takes on the Oakland Raiders"
Seriously? What happened to the other 10 guys on the field with Wilson? Last time I checked, there was an entire football team that was playing against the Raiders as well.
It's no different from the bozos chanting for Josh Portis to start of TJack and Clipboard Jesus last year. Portis looked pretty darned good in pre season last year too.12th Man and proudComment

Wilson was dominant at NC State and Wisconsin. The only thing he has ever shown as a football player is success. He has continued that success onto the preseason during his rookie year. He has to do it in the regular season and he has to prove himself. You're not going to find a single Seahawks fan who feels differently.Comment

He's a rookie with a great storyline, great skills and tons of upside, while at the same time garnering national exposure for the Seahawks. Not seeing the problem.Comment

Re: Official Seattle Seahawks Thread
I'm excited for Wilson as well, but I can't help but feel that Flynn might get the start somewhere down the line.
That being said I'm immensely excited for the season, lots of young talent on the team...I was checking out ESPN the other day, and only had "expert" had the Seahawks making the playoffs. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think if we get consistent QB play, we've got a very good shot at this division.
Also, cutting Winslow makes meComment

I feel like most everyone is sleeping on the Hawks. Injuries can derail the best teams, but I haven't been this optimistic about a team since 2006, especially with that defense. They've had teams with more top end talent, but there hasn't been this much talent from 1-53 on a Seahawks team, ever.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Official Seattle Seahawks Thread
I've just one question.
last season, the general consensus was this team was a quarterback away from getting back to the playoffs.
This year, we hear "This is Seahawks football, we aren't going to throw the ball all over the place...we are gonna run run and run"....which is great. I love this throwback smash mouth attitude the new Seahawks have.
But...why did we spend all this money on Flynn, waste a 3rd round pick on Wilson if all we need for Seahawks "pound the rock" football is a competent game manager? I mean, it seems like we just could have saved the money and spent the 3rd round pick on some depth and just stuck with TJack if all we needed was a game manager.12th Man and proudComment
