    Re: Official Seattle Seahawks Thread

The latest football news, analysis, and rankings from PFF. Featuring data-driven rankings and stats for NFL, fantasy football, and the NFL Draft.

Key free agents going into the offseason. Keys that I see are Jason Jones, Leroy Hill, Marcus Trufant, Alan Branch. I'd be totally cool with letting Trufant go. Would like to see us draft a replacement for Leroy. Thoughts on Jones/Branch?

Also, gonna be real curious to see what happens to Matt Flynn this offseason. If we can trade him for a draft pick or two, that would be huge.

Yeah that would be awesome to get some more picks under our belt. He is a great back up to have though and with the amount of times Russell gets hit, you never know. Should be interesting though.

Yeah, I'm surprised I'm not sad LOL. Disappointed we lost, but we lost on the road to the #1 seed and we were in it at the end after being down 20. Awesome. This team has no quit, but if I see prevent defense one more time I may pay Bradley a personal visit.

First of all, I'm completely confident that Pete and John will plug the holes in the draft (DL, WR, OL depth). I also believe Leroy Hill's replacement needs to be found.

To Flynn, I think John wheels and deals him for a draft pick or two. I don't think I'd expect more than a fourth for him, third at the best...but that's all we'd need with Pete and John on Draft Day. They are magicians at the mid-rounds.

Free agency: I think the Seahawks will be a desirable destination for many players this offseason, so we might be surprised by a good move or two (especially if we unload Flynn). Possibly for a stud interior D lineman, maybe a WR like Jennings from GB? We'll see.

Great season, Seahawks! We'll be around, and no reason to not expect to win each week and get to the SB next year. Time is now.

In my opinion, Truant should just retire. He's too much of a hometown hero for me to imagine him playing anywhere else. That said, honestly, he had no business starting at nickel back, considering how much speed he's lost.

As far as the rest of the FA... Jones seems like he's not with more than a one-year deal, due to his health issues. Branch never really justified how much playing time he gets.

In the draft, we should go after some interior defensive linemen... someone who can play a three-technique. I'd also consider drafting James Carpenter's replacement. This is the second time in as many seasons that he's ended up on IR. Next year is boom-or-bust for him...

Yeah I'm hoping that we can get a decent free agent or two coming up. Should be interesting to see if there's anyone they find interesting enough to pursue.

I think they really like McQuistan if Carpenter goes down, again. The interior line depth is pretty good with Carp, Moffitt, Sweezy, and McQuistan.

I think the future Leo and 3 tech to replace Branch are the major priorities. Branch doesn't strike me as athletic enough to be successful there and the timing of Clemons recovery is going to force them to draft or sign his replacement. I'm not impressed by Irvin. I'm guessing the Hawks stash Clemons on the PUP for the first six weeks and hope for a fast recovery. Not likely at his age.

WR depth could be a draft target as well. And I agree, Trufant will retire.

Why I'm so confident in Russell Wilson remaining great:

                  John Boyle ‏@johnpboyle
QB Russell Wilson wasn't in the locker room for cleanout b/c he was watching film. Seriously. #Seahawks

I loved his quote at the end of the game about just being excited to get on the field again next year....yeah I think we found our guy.

I just hope Wilson won't be as stubborn as Griffin would be if he gets injured. I don't expect Wilson to get hurt very much in his career but I hope Wilson will let himself get healed and rested from an injury sometime instead of trying to keep playing... ya know what I mean.

So Percy in a Seattle uniform? Sounds great to me. I'm curious how they position him with Tate, Sid and Baldwin. Tate and Percy in the slot would be lethal. Sucks giving up a first but if he can stay healthy it will be well worth the 25th pick

Does he normally split out in the Vikings offense, or is he usually the slot guy?

If he can split, he and Tate might be competing for #2.

Didn't watch a whole lot of Vikings last year but he seemed to move all over the place in that offense. I don't see why he couldn't spilt out. We just need to get him the football in space.
