Good choice. A no-brainer at least for this year.

So how does everyone think we will do this year?

I'm thinking the ceiling if things go our way is 11-5. But on the other end if we suffer from inconsistency and injury we could be 6-10ish.

I'm putting my prediction at 9-7 though for the time being. We need consistency with linebackers, d-line, o-line and receivers before we become serious competitors.

Went to practice today and saw TO. Not too bad for a 39 year old who wasn't even in the league last year. Browner owned him bad a few times.

I was actually more impressed with Braylon Edwards though. He caught some amazing balls today, including an aerial one handed grab that was soooo pretty. The defense looks like it could be really scary. Irvin is FAST

8-8...9-7...somewhere around there. I feel we may go 3-5 or 4-4 in the division. We aren't quite the caliber of the Niners (even though I think they'll take a step back) and the Cardinals may still be a bit better. With that being said, I can't wait to see the defense this year.

What did everyone think of the game?

I thought our defense was great. Bobby Wagner looks to be a solid linebacker and our secondary still seems to be the strong point. I could of used a bit more pass rush and Bruce never seemed to show his stuff but it's only one game. Matt Flynn looked alright. Lots of check downs to backs and tight ends. Wilson on the other hand looked pretty good goin against 2nd team defense. He is a legit running threat. Speaking of running, Turbin just looks like a stud waiting to happen. I'm really excited for him. Offensive line was so so as were receivers. Wish we could have seen Sidney and TO. Overall not a bad first game though.

                    Re: Official Seattle Seahawks Thread

I am beyond excited for the season to start.

Don't look now, but the Seahawks have a lot of talent. I'll try to minimize the homerism a bit, but look at our roster... This defense has the potential to be the best one we've had in a long time. Our secondary is among the best in the league and our defensive line should be solid as well. The question is linebacker, but I am liking what I'm seeing. Did anyone see where Michael Robinson called Bobby Wagner a "Patrick Willis type talent?" Wow.

Russell Wilson = the real deal. I'm not just basing that off his performance against the Titans... It just seems like the kid is a winner and he's immensely talented. He'll always get questioned because of his size, but he has the talent to be a very good QB in the NFL. I like Flynn as well, but he's far from a sure thing at this point.

There's simply quite a bit of talent on this team. If they can stay healthy and put it together, I could honestly see a team that could pull off 12 wins. Sounds crazy, but this is the NFL and teams can and do improve that much from year to year at times. I just really like our team this year and have a very good feeling about them.

It's hard NOT to get excited about the possibilities, so a little Homerism is granted

My concerns lie with our O-line being healthy and consistent, for the rest of the offense to come together. Also curious to see how things work out at WR. I think we'll be targeting a WR in the first round next year, so we'll have our first 'sexy' draft in awhile, as it were LOL.

On defense, my concern is at linebacker. Wagner in the same sentence with Willis? We'll have to see...can't wait to see him play for myself. Looking forward to seeing the team in action...still pissed about the blackout LOL.

I honestly thought Matt Flynn looked great. He was sharp, made quick decisions and showed me quite a bit. I really liked the throw he had running to his left and hitting Zach Miller (who then got concussed ... again). I want to see Flynn start this year.

I've been pumped for Russell Wilson since before we even drafted him. I've got very, very high hopes for this guy and it was great to see him have a solid game. It was against backups, so I'm not reading into it too much at this point. But it's better to see him have a good game as opposed to a bad one.

I'd also add that the uniforms didn't look too bad IMO. Not the best in the NFL by any means but much sharper than our previous home uni's.

Just from a measurables standpoint, when you compare their combine numbers, it's scary how similar they are. Willis had more straight away speed, but Wagner had better shuttle times and more reps with the bar. We'll see if Wagner can equate that to football speed.

You never know since injuries are the ultimate equalizer, but this defense has the potential to be the best in Seahawk history. And Jason Jones was very impressive Saturday night. I think I'm more excited about him than any other newcomer on defense.

Agreed on Jason Jones. I have high expectations for him this year. When we signed him, I was hoping it would be a multi year deal because I think he's going to have a great year.

I don't think Wilson looked all that impressive to be completely honest. He made some really bad reads and showed poor decision making. His naked boot was against 3s and 4s, so I wouldn't get too pumped up about his running yet.

Let's not forget the lessons of Justin Forsett so soon Seahawks fans...an amazing preseason stat line does not always translate to the regular season.
