Anyway. The roster db must be getting corrupted somehow during the process. Using the first tool, I extracted my db, made a few simple edits, saved the db. Re-packed it into my roster file, injected that roster into my flash drive, when I go to load it in game it says the roster is damaged and cannot be used.
The first tool didn't actually extract and pack the roster on X360 correctly. You need to use Horizon first to extract the roster file. Then use my tool. You should have 3 files by the end of the process.

Roster yyyymmddxyz <-- CON file (look in the header) - extract roster with Horizon
RosterFile <-- Roster file - extract db using my tool
Roster.db <-- the final db file

In the DSvy tab, all the column headers have non-descript names like QoMA, JvCD YskE...

      Am I doing something wrong?

Or alternatively, if we figure out what the columns are, can we just edit the XML to have the right names?

I've already figured that the player stats in DSvy are linked to the Biography entries in ubPc via the player ID, so for exemple, the line in DSvy that is aligned with Player ID #2 refers to Player ID #2 in ubPc, in this case, Lasse Kukkonen. For ease of use, I've moved the columns around quite a bit, you can do that by the way.

Every tab that has Player ID has to do with players.

        Re: NHL 14 Roster Tools

        Pyro the tool works great. Unfortunately , I am still getting the "invalid package" message when I attempt to pull my edited file from my pc back onto the usb via horizon. Read through this real quick;

        1) Horizon to pull roster con file (Roster 1001...) to my desktop.
        2) Open your tool, click NHL 14 click extract database
        3) choose my roster file, boom it creates a Db for me to put in the Db editor.
        4) Load, edit and save in the editor. Does it matter that I overwrite the original Db with my new edited one?
        5) Open your tool again, click nhl14, patch database, click my edited Db and than place it back in the con file (roster 1001...)
        6) Go through the fileverified++ and HxD steps. (one quick question, the only mistake I could b making. It says highlight bytes 00x1c to the end of the file. Does that mean all the way to the right so 1C-1F are highlighted, or am I supposed to highlight from 00x1c all the way to the bottom of the file?)
        7) Inject the con file back into my usb using Horizon.

It seems to be correct, hopefully that one step with highlighting 00x1c is where I'm making the mistake. But anyways let me know Pyro...Thanks!
Btw: Moose weight, height and many of those categories are coded by clicks. Ex. height 18 means 6'0'' so 21 would be 6'3". I believe the game starts default at 5'6'', so 18 clicks would get u to 6'0''.

Hmmm... so somebody could make a simple converter in Excel, same with all the stats that default at 36.

Ohhhhh am I ever gonna have fun with this.

Team ID for the Jets is 2. Right between Anaheim and Boston. So EA didn't even bother to put them in alphabetic order they just stuck them in Atlanta's spot.

I was using usbxtafgui to extract my roster from the flash drive. Will this not work? It extracts the roster fine...

What are all these other tabs people are using,is there a different xml file for the editor?

            Edit:
Ok I saved a clean roster from NHL14 to my flash drive, extracted with horizon this time, and the new tool extracted the db just fine. Now to try editing and repacking.....

When trying to place the edited roster back on the flash drive, does it matter if you choose inject or replace?

I think you need to click replace. Again, I don't have a X360 so I don't even know if the tool works 100%.

I'll try to figure out the DSVY fields.

EWUF is Overall (Probably calculated in-game, I wouldn't mess with it.)
                EJVH is Wrist Shot Power
                JVCD is Slap Shot Power
                BBQK is Slap Shot Accuracy
                VWRK is Faceoffs
                PVTO is Defensive Awareness

Ok well I will try that! Can u confirm my previous hex edit question? Before I click analysis, it says highlight bytes 0X1C to the end of the file. Does that mean highlight 1c-1f so that I go all the way to the right, or do I have to start at 00x1c and drag it all the way down to the end of the file (which seems like it could take 10 min to get to the bottom).

Demolition's instructions (very helpful and detailed )

4a.) Highlight every byte in the open "Roster File" from byte 0x1C all the way to the end of the file.

Dunno if this means anything or if it's known already...
In horizon the offset is : 0xD000

You don't need to do the hex edits with my tool.

In my other version of the tool I made a hex edit near that address. It didn't work because the CON file format is different. That's why you need to use Horizon to extract the roster first. Then the file that comes from that starts with RosterFile. It uses the exact same format as the PS3 version using the same offsets, which my tool automatically does.

I'm gonna keep trying. Somehow when I replaced the roster in horizon with the edited one it just merged those 2, so the roster was 5 mb.

Something isn't quite right here, but were close.

                          We can extract,view and edit.....
