Yeah, I'm not happy with the stick lifting neither. This animation is actually broken into 2 parts.
The 1st initial part is fine, but that second part is way too slow in 0.7 and as you said, sometimes off.
It's because the player (human or ai) usually triggered them too soon or sometimes in a situation that doesn't make sense physically.
The same can be said about the checking or hitting in this game... or 2K10 on 360. These games were pretty much identical gameplay wise.
Players often triggered the animation way out of position and as the game is giving them helping hand and suck them into this animation it often looks bad and well... forced.
That's why I said earlier it is important to find a code that is responsible for the range when this animations can be triggered and result in a check or lift or at least turn off or tune down this "help" from computer.
This would solve almost all these issues and glitches I think and the game would also be much more skill based/ rewarding.
As for the skating and turning... it will be VERY different.
I agree that SOME players should be able to reach higher top speed and make sharper turns, but that needs to result in significant speed lost 1st.
Sharper you turn= more speed you loose.
And you need to have proper stamina system fully working, so players can't hustle full speed like in NHL 20. That's awful.
I was lucky to find some amazing things that can be done when it comes to movement and push the skating to the whole new level. Or few levels Im not afraid to say. Well at least for my eyes
