I have to say that looks really nice! Will be really interesting to see how that plays in the game. Is it the dump button or usual pass button that can get that effect?

Re: 2KHS v0.7 (Nov 2019 release)
it's both.
Its quite big change in the way the puck physics works in 2KHS and how it was before. Basically anytime the puck gets above the ice enough it can wobble (or not) depending on the direction of the blade vs puck at the moment you (or ai) pass, dump, or shoot the puck.
And as it's driven by physics many factors are taken into account, like the position of the player relative the direction you wanna pass or dump the puck, speed, attributes etc.
So, for example, you try to make some really hard pass to a not very realistic direction (relative to your body) there is a much bigger chance you miss the pass, dump or shot, or its much slower as it respects the abilities of the human body.
Here is another topic and that is One-timers:

Re: 2KHS v0.7 (Nov 2019 release)
Is there a post somewhere that outlines what the best version of Dolphin is for this and what the optimal settings are for most computers? I'm finally giving this a go and obviously getting nothing but unplayable slow gameplay.

Re: 2KHS v0.7 (Nov 2019 release)
For 2KHS you need to use the included dolphin version otherwise you won't get all features. You will be playing NHL2K11 with improved graphics basically.
Start by turning down resolution and removing graphical effects. Now go play NHL Two K!

Oh ok. I was just trying to run stock 2k11 with dolphin to see how it played.Last edited by tinpanalley; 03-26-2020, 02:39 AM.Comment

Re: 2KHS v0.7 (Nov 2019 release)
Goalies are now part of the physics engine
Its kinda "too much" for the sake of this demonstration. I can tune the power/speed needed to trigger the incidental contacts or hitting separately.

Re: 2KHS v0.7 (Nov 2019 release)
No, I meant that I wanted to see the emulation of the game as a baseline from which to compare the modded version. This stock version's delays were unplayable. So, that's why I was asking if there were Dolphin settings that were important to set.Comment

Re: 2KHS v0.7 (Nov 2019 release)
What the gameplay is natively like as designed is not my question. In fact I have every other NHL2K game so I understand how it's 'supposed' to play. What I was trying to get at was what 2K11 plays like on Dolphin specifically and what is the best I can get it to play like on my system. Then, once establishing what that baseline is that I can expect, when I try the mod which is likely to be more memory intensive, I'll have something to compare it to.
Example: if the mod is unplayable with delays etc on my system, but the stock game runs fine, I know what I can try tweaking. If the stock version plays badly already, then I know that the mod one won't be any better on my system. Is my question more clear now?
My specs:
I run a Ryzen 5 3600 6-core 3600Mhz on a B450 Tomahawk Max
16 GB RAM
Radeon R9 280, 3GBLast edited by tinpanalley; 03-26-2020, 01:31 PM.Comment

I'm not communicating my point properly. Let me try again...

From my experience 3.6GHz will probably be too low to get the full experience. Since it is an emulated game it is very CPU heavy. You must atleast make sure the CPU can run at max all the time, cooling is important.
You can make the base game "playable" by using the CPU limit and lowering from 100% as that will force the game to frame skip. However when playing 2KHS you will break animation hacks and more when using this.
I don't know if it would at all be possible but I have this idea if it would be possible to force the game to always run at 30fps, and DJNEOs hacks could be converted for 30fps, it would be possible to make a more lightweight version available for more peoples computers.
I know too little about how the animation hacks work.Last edited by nikethebike; 03-27-2020, 04:22 AM.Now go play NHL Two K!
