      Cool....
Hybrids are certainly an option over long irons. Once I get to the point of not being able to hit long irons you can bet I'll pull out my hybrids
In fact since I don't carry a 3W I may throw in one of my hybrids if I don't get another wedge with different loft than I have.

I started playing a couple weeks ago. My short irons and putting were great, but I lost a lot of distance off the tee. I was shooting in the low 50's for 9 holes though. I go to the range, come back, and i'm killing my driver again (and my woods were pretty good, but my irons, chipping, and putting went down the toilet, and I was terrible.

Wow what a difference winter makes.
          Driver F
          Fairway woods B+
          Irons (7-9) C-
          Wedges B+

I have got to get my driver worked out...
Had tk abandone it after a few holes.

Shot a 92 today for my first round of the year. I know after a coiple more range trips etc i'll get most things straightened out and will get low 80's and go from there.
Really fun though due as i hooked up with 2 friends that we had not seen for a few years.

You left put the putter grade. Thanks to putt putt no matter what that is usually an A+ for me. I can usually get around in under 30 putts most of the time.

              I averaged 2.33 putts per hole.. so a F

It was a rough day all together. It was 41 degrees at start and we had a frost delay.
HOWEVER.... I was playing golf so it all wasn't bad lol

                Re: 2011 Golfer's Thread

Played Disney's Osprey Ridge at Disney World. Best golfing experience ever! Got a free bucket of balls for the range to warm up, and I was the only one on the course (was a Tuesday). The course makes you feel all alone anyways and there are only a few holes where you can see other holes next to you, but otherwise you are completely surrounded by the woods. I saw Deer everywhere, crazy lookin birds (one took my sandwich), turtles....cool stuff. And I played the best golf I have ever played as there was no pressure from someone wanting me to hurry the F up. I could take my time and line up my shots and it just felt great. To top it all off when I finished the 18th the guy told me if I wanted to I could play the front 9 again no charge so off I went! He got a nice tip.

Nice! I got to play Magnolia last year. Was lucky enough to get to place the pin on 18. Put it o. The right side...hit my approach into the water on the right. Golf gods got the last laugh.

Here in Tn the weather warmed up enough the last couple of weeks to get some golf in. I played 36 last saturday and 18 the week before. I'm currently hitting ping i3+ irons but patiently waiting on my new set of taylor made tour preferred cb irons. I plan on playing this saturday. BTW....does anyone on here have any experience with the practice club (tour striker)?. I pick the ball terribly and have for 30 years.

I don't have experience with that BUT I used the Stack and Tilt system which I swear by to get consistant ball striking. I've since went a tad bit away from the stack and tilt but the core I still use to a degree.

I played Magnolia a really long time ago (probably 15 yrs or so ago)...I remember it was nice, but the newer Disney courses are, I would imagine, nicer.

Got in a round last week at a nearby track...horrible front: 49, and it was worse than that to watch...got a few up-and-downs and good putts to keep the score respectable, but if you saw the round, you would have guessed 50-60 for the score. Then I started to figure it out a bit on the back and posted a 45, although it was capped by a double-bogey on 18 which I blame on the sunlight getting real low by that point...but the good news was I think I figured out some of my early-season problems, so that's always a positive. Taking the club back too steep....guess I've been watching too much Freddie Couples lately.

Here in Atlanta, I actually got a round in in January (warmed up for a weekend), then 3 rounds during March. Going to be 77 and sunny on Sunday, so I've already got a tee time

I am NOT a cold weather golfer. I don't even like playing early in the morning if it's chilly then. 100 degrees? No problem. 50? No thank you!
