Im excited. I've had the Ping G10's for two years. This year albeit the end of the year I am getting the i15's. I've started to work the ball with the 10's but can't move it enough. Last year at the end of the season I was spinning my wedges (Nike VR lob, approach, sand) back about 3-7 feet.

Now I just have to pick a ball. Last year I played Srixon, Nike, Calloway and Top Flight 2 and 3 peice balls. I really like the Srixon Z-Star balls. But I was putting better with the Nike One. So I was keeping a Nike in my pocket for the greens. Last summer was the best golfing summer I've had.

I have never played a ball outside of Titleist.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I switched to Callaway Balls last year and love them.
I do keep some Titleists on hand though...
In any case I'll be sticking to Callaway for now.

Tonight a put on a new grip on my putter. Went with a larger grip (Tigershark) as it feels more comfortable and have a better feel with it.

BTW the Taylormade R7 driver I just got... LOVE IT!!!!
        At least on the range

I'm too embarrassed at my lack of skills to go out with anyone else (other than my fiance, who's actually a slight bit better than me). I have made some strides last year at the range, where I was consistently hitting good shots, but I'm hoping to move that out onto the course.

for those that have hit or used hybrids, which is the best? I'm thinking of getting one, but haven't really researched them at all. Wasn't keen on hybrids, until my buddy hit one yesterday and was going on and on about how much he liked it.

I only have one. I got it for $40 on sale at golf galaxy. Nike SQ Sumo 2 iron and I. Love. It. The guys in my foursome also love it. I am a hybrid convert. When I get my new irons will probably add a 4 iron hybrid to my bag.

                    Re: 2011 Golfer's Thread

Yay, glad someone made this thread.

My first official round was today and shot a 90, par 70. Really bad scoring, but overall just a tough day because of 20-30 mph crosswinds.

Funnily enough, my strength was my weakness today, putting. I had 13 par putts, missed them all.

Oh well, I'll take it as a first round experiment. Hope to get a round in this weekend.

I have a Calloway 4 hybrid that I absolutely love.

I haven't tried any others though to be able to compare them.

I bought mine when they were on sale. They aren't high name stuff either (Nikent(sp) ) BUT they ended up being a waste for me and neither one is in my bag now. I have a 4 and a 7. After going to stack and tilt (Which I'm sort of still with but not as extreme) and it gave me great muscle memory and ball striking consistancy, I use my irons exclusively.

To answer your question though (I forgot to earlier) they are very nice. Very forgiving and they get the ball up quick and pure.

I'm thinking about going somewhere and hitting some to get a feel. Never was keen on the hybrids until after my past round this weekend with my buddy.
