Unmanageable is the right word, no idea how either company will be able to make a PGA license game. And LIV is probably going to kill the Ryder cup.

Ea will be fine, they have the big time tournaments, just get Rory, Spieth, Scheffler, Cantley,Cam smith, Hovland, Xander S, max homa and maybe even Justin Thomas if he’s not exclusive anymore and you have a great list of playable pros. Not to mention the lpga players.

Cam Smith and Hovland are also in the rumors to jump to LIV... that's the kind of unmanageable that we're talking about. And it's also affecting the PGA license leaderboards.

If this keeps up, the PGA's hand will be forced

Folks keep saying the LIV is a lesser product ... since I don't watch it I can't say... but if so, the PGA should let players go there if they want and still let them play on the PGA ... and let the better product win out.

From what I keep hearing, that won't be the LIV, so I'm unclear what the PGA is so upset about here necessarily.

          Date conflicts I guess?
Not sure what to tell them -- "adapt" I guess.

People going for the money is as old as time..

The PGA should know -- just ask any of their myriad of sponsors about much of their own profit centric conduct...ethics and morality be damned. They should knock it off with they hypocrisy on some of this.

Insert Jon Rahm and Tony Finau.

Problem solved. Point is , barring everyone leaves, EA has the courses that matter and still a lot of stars to make playable.

But what if they haven't done motion capture stuff yet?

I'm sure they are busy trying to figure out a strategy of who to FOR SURE include and spend money/resources on... and also how to legally & procedurally handle things if players jump to LIV....and then the marketing side.

It's even further complicated by both shops doing disc versions of these games I'm sure as well.

This really is an epic mess for the game devs at 2K & EA

For sure -- I'm sort of operating under the assumption they are trying to do a lot better and more complete work than Rory though..

Of course with how things have evolved -- who knows, right?

For me they could make the "real pros in the game" a totally paid DLC thing. I don't care an ounce about it. I'm all about the courses and events and just seeing the names on the leaderboard is fine by me.

Yep, LIV is scheduling events at the same time as PGA events. Only 54 holes though. And next year, LIV is going to have something like 15 events, no only 8. Like Gary Player said, it's either LIV or the PGA, not both.

Sounds like it's going to be war...

PGA will have to adapt and it will get more and more precarious for them with the more players they lose.

"Money" -- will keep being a very attractive lure for a lot of players.

It's not only the PGA, the European Tour or whatever their name these days, it's affecting them too.

I really wish all this LIV crap could have waited another year until we had both new games in our hands already...

I think we are just a short while away from finding out if LIV will be getting OWGR points at their events...they are actually chewing on that now:

The Official World Golf Ranking board began considering LIV Golf's application for recognition during a meeting at the R&A headquarters in St. Andrews, Scotland, on Tuedsay. In a statement, the OWGR said LIV Golf applied for inclusion on July 6.

I think that decision will go a long way determining how much more impact LIV will have in terms of pulling players away, and who else might leave simply for a payday and be willing to give up the majors, should LIV players not be allowed to earn OWGR points at their league's events.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think the LIV players will not be excluded from the game. Unless I didn’t see it, I don’t think ea has flat out said “we aren’t putting so and so In the game because of there connection to LIV” This is all probably about contracts.
