Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
I agree with your take on having real golfers in a golf game, but to classify folks that want them as casual is just you being an *******, and not based in reality.
It feels like a part of the fanboy way to counter crap like, "Oh noes, EA won't have any golfers in their game" kind of crap. Using crap to counter crap.
Well done.Comment

How do you think this clarification differed from what I just wrote?Comment

Regardless of the opinions on either side of this issue, I have no idea why anyone in here discussing these games would find a way or reason to call someone out as an ******* or be even slightly antagonistic about any of this. I've only noticed one particular person doing it.
We're all just golf geeks talking/speculating/anticipating more fun with video golf games here in the next few months. It's all good, isn't it?Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
Maybe this signature quote explains it?
"I think a lot of the anger some fans have toward video games they fear will disappoint them are rooted in unrelated desires for basic existential validation. And I get that. But no video game (or movie, or book, or song) is ever going to fill that hole." - Arthur Gies
I'm 55 years old and have been playing sports video games exclusively since the late 1980s. I've never played a video game that wasn't baseball, football, basketball, hockey or golf. Since, like, before Sega. Gawd, before Intellivision (their hockey game was revolutionary in the 80s, every hockey player kid like me had to have that as a 12 year old).
I don't ever remember feeling or having to process any anger issues toward any of them, even the games that sucked. Or towards people that play them or like to post an opinion about them, or have a friendly discussion about them. :-)
Let's keep it light and fun, eh?Last edited by golfnut67; 06-25-2022, 03:35 PM.Comment

I hope you weren’t talking about me!
I know I have had a little back and forth with Sagwi but I never crossed any lines… at least I don’t think I have.Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
I'm sure the uncertainty of what high profile PGA TOUR pros are going to be available for contract, and which ones could possibly bail right after EA contracts them for use of their name and possibly their likeness, is causing them some consternation. I can't see them pulling the plug on the project because of it, but I can see it potentially causing a delay.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment
