Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
It’s nice to have, especially if there’s the ability to play quick tournaments or whatever they’re called in TW14 where you could play against and watch the Ai golfers. Rory 15 lacked the ability to watch or play against Ai golfers as there wasn’t even a replay system.
I’ll be happy with 10-15 pros and a good custom golfer system.
It will be fine.Comment

After watching the new Forza Motorsport during the Xbox Showcase, I think Turn10 should make a golf game.Comment

It will be nice to have a ton of pros if you can play career with them like they hinted at last year.
Kinda odd that was never an option in years past.Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
Ideally, I'd like to see at least a half dozen pros in the game who had their swings mo-capped, but even a half dozen mo-caps would be cost prohibitive. I could accept pros in the game with a generic swing animation, as long as their physique and facial likenesses were faithful AND their stroke-by-stroke play matched up with their real live statistics and attributes. I would play a career mode that at least had pros that met this criteria.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
For the real golf experience, your game is probably 2K/HB. This EA game will be a PGA Tour experience. And with a full arcade mode for those wanting to hole out a bunch of times to play -28 and better.
As for mo-capped, I don't see them going to that expense. Just about every casuals have no idea what the pros swing look like unless they're something particular like Furyk of Wolff.Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
I could be way off here but I think they could replicate the swings. Look at all the different shot types in NBA 2k, different throwing motions in Madden, different baseball stances/swings in The Show. I don't know enough about production to know how they do it but I'm sure not everyone is motion captured (some of the individuals are deceased and have what looks like their motion in games) so there must be a way to make the swings look somewhat like the real life counterparts without motion capturing the real golfers.Comment

I wouldn’t get my hopes too high on each pros swing being no cap. I believe in Rory 15 the only capped swing was Rory Mcilroy for obvious reasons and the rest had an ugly generic swing. They then added DJ later on and I believe have him Rory’s swing animation which didn’t look too out of place compared to say Jordan Spieths who looked awful.Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
The Trevino swing was pretty good in TW14. TW14, probably TW13 too can't remember, had several customizations for golfers. Most pros probably went something like: Power draw or fade. Control draw or fade. They were available to us for our golfers.Comment

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023
You might already know this , but with the legends in 14, EA actually mo capped guys replicating their swings.
Turned out really good imo.Comment
