Great course list and I agree with you about needing to launch with 20+

I'm hopeful that sometime after launch they will also consider some DLC packs of more offbeat courses that are nice, perhaps have been around in other games over the years, but aren't necessarily for PGA related stuff.

I'd enjoy some of the Bandon courses for instance...also some Hawaii ones
I am quite intrigued to see if EA acquires rights to other courses that 2K has, as well. To be honest, 2K did have a lot of actual courses with actual, annual events played at them. If only their career mode wasn't glitched...

But both 2K and EA will likely have TPC Southwind, as it's in PGA 2K21 and EA has already announced that one. I would assume Scottsdale and Sawgrass will be in both, too...EA has already said The PLAYERS is in. But other courses that have been in EA games before, like Bay Hill, Riviera, Quail Hollow, TPC Boston, TPC San Antonio, TPC Louisiana, TPC River Highlands...they were in PGA 2K21, too. I wonder how that will all work.

The Bandon courses and such would be pretty amazing, and they are set to host some USGA amateur events in the near future, too...and we know there's a US Am. component to EA's game...

Last summer an EA rep said the game was on the fast track for 2022(obviously a delay happened). Also I recall reading last year they had spent days scanning Augusta(Hoping they go back to get updates). But anyway it won’t matter much as long as they have all of the Rory 15 courses. That would put us at 28 total courses including…

          Major Courses
          •Augusta National (Masters)
          •Kiawah Island (PGA Championship)
          •Southern Hills (PGA Championship)
          •Whistling Strait’s (PGA Championship)
          •Quail Hollow (PGA Championship)
          •Oakmont (US Open)
          •The Country Club (US Open)
          •Pebble Beach (US Open)
          •Chambers Bay (US Open)
          •Torrey Pines (US Open)
          •St Andrews (Open Championship)
          •Royal Troon (Open Championship)
          PGA Tour courses
          •East Lake
          •Bay Hill
          •TPC Sawgrass
          •TPC Scottsdale
          •PGA West Stadium Course
          •TPC Boston
          •Wilmington Country Club
          •TPC Southwind
          Other Courses
          •Banff Springs
          •Evian Resort Golf Club (LPGA)
          •Wolf Creek
          Fantasy Courses from Rory 15
          •Treasure Island
          •Coyote Falls
          •The Wetlands
          •Lighthouse point
          •Paracel Storm Par 3

So lots of major courses for rotation….28 courses would be PLENTY for me, still a far cry from TW14s 40 but with them all being on frostbite and so pretty I wouldn’t care. I hope EA pulls this off. I won’t lie, if most of the Rory 15 courses are missing, I’ll be disappointed.

Re: EA Sports PGA Tour Releases in Spring 2023

Licenses are a fickle thing...since it's been 7-8 years, who knows if they still have the rights to use courses like Oakmont, Whistling Straits, etc. I would actually be shocked if they DID have all the Rory courses in EA's new game, just due to licensing costs and contracts.

I will say, I did a recreation of the Irish Course at Whistling Straits in PGA 2K21. It got picked up in TGC Tours and used on their Beer League. On their website database of courses, they had to rename it as "Wisconsin Straits - Irish"...

So they either were taking some preventative steps in case of any rights issues, or know something we don't...at the same time, there has been no in-game censoring of the course name like there has been for Augusta, Royal Melbourne, St Andrews, etc.

I'm all in for an Hawaiian event too, they could have a Canada Classic at Banff. Got a feeling if they have DLC courses, it will be some in Rory that they haven't mentioned yet. A way to get their $ back to renew those licenses.

Yeah, if they do paid DLC, they'll likely do what they did with Tiger. Cycle some courses in and out of the on-disc allotment, and some in the DLC side of things. I seem to recall courses being part of the basic count in one TW game, then the next year it was in the paid DLC packs, aside from holdovers like Pebble and St Andrews.

As for Hawaii, give me Waialae and Kapalua.

That’s true, but I can’t help but think most will be in. TW games had double that for years.

                        That is next level!

Good idea for EA on promo too

If they ever decide to start showing us the actual game, some wallpapers with beautiful in game shots would be awesome

With Scottie Scheffler emerging as the number one player in the world hopefully they’ll put him in the game.

Thinking the same here. Just a few names I want to see….
                              Rory
                              Spieth
                              Scottie
                              DJ
                              PHIL(doubtful)
                              Tiger(impossible[emoji24])
                              Morikawa
                              Rickie
                              Pops masterson

Really hope they let you use the pros in career mode like they hinted at last year. I’d use Rory and try to get him up to 19 majors.
