Maybe it’s just me, but adding no pga professionals in a “pga tour” game is odd to me. Never liked it when ea did it and not liking it when 2k is doing it.

Maybe I’m just old, but who the heck is Gareth Bale?

I'd never heard of him either, but I'm a very casual fan of soccer. I'll try playing a round with his animation. Sometimes it makes a difference in how I time movements depending upon the animation. Of course that wouldn't help me in Society play, but it's fun to experiment with this stuff anyway.

On PS5, I'm currently downloading an update for 2K23. It's small, just 1.3 GB. Version 1.02.

EDIT - per 2K's Discord, the fix is in place to address a reported concern that may have caused players with over 50 friends on PS5 to be unable to see or invite friends into matches.

So no black screen fix eh? You know I like this game a lot but I have never seen a game actually perform worse as the cycle goes on.

I get lots of HB error codes when playing, severs getting hung up, etc. These live service games are so jittery and unstable.

Played earlier this morning with my female character and found a strange thing halfway through the round. There was what looked to be a golf club shaft growing out of her thigh. Closed the game loaded the male character and no problems there. I fired it up just now and there is an update. Can't see what this will include. Anyone?

Someone over at TGCT said that there was a Halloween asset pack added for the designer as part of the patch.

Not related to your post Beach, but do you prefer PGA 2k23 over EA Sports PGA? Or vice versa.... I love 2k23 and have thought about playing EA Sports version but havent yet.

Yeah I got the update too.

Deciding whether or not I want to pick up the Deluxe edition of this game (for $25) 1-year into it's life cycle or grab EA PGA standard edition for $20. From the casual perspective, it seems like both companies are not giving up on their games.

Deluxe for 25 bucks with hundreds of good to great user created courses with the best gameplay in any golf game to date? Not a discussion.

I've thought about actually doing a bigger post here in a new thread on this topic, since it might be hard to sum up my thoughts in a brief comment...haha.

I will say I play both games and get enjoyment from both. I also have some hangups with both games, too.

However, EA's game has a fair number of bugs and glitches that can be a pain to deal with. Example...right now, I cannot finish the Titleist sponsor challenges because 3 of them just won't load. It's a bit gamebreaking, as there are rewards in there that are unobtainable until they sort this out.

I do think EA's career is better, and the the challenges add a lot of replayability and depth. But 2K has a much more refined experience with less debilitating bugs and glitches (although they aren't free from issues in that regard either - just ask PC course designers about crashes).

Plus, 2K has so many user courses to play and new ones arriving regularly that there still is freshness there.

Gameplay wise, both games are so different and are built to provide experiences that are hard to compare in an apples to apples way. I will simply say that both are fine with me.

Bottom line: I play both games every day, but 2K's game (while perhaps lacking in career mode depth and game modes), offers a more polished total experience IMO.

I'm sorry I just had to laugh at myself, 50 FRIENDS!! Hell I don't know 50 PEOPLE let alone 50 FRIENDS!!
