Hey Bob we need to get a race up I'm thinking 101 laps at Daytona in the Cup car single file restarts. Come on man lets get this done.

I have been thinking that we need to get up some races together soon. What do you guys think? Maybe after the New Year we could start up an OS version of IROC. Thought that maybe we could use the old B car with some fixed set ups and have a 6 week race schedule and race consisting of 60-70 laps depending on the track. Just throwing this out there maybe a schedule like this? Even score points like NASCAR 43 for 1st and on down like NASCAR plus 1 for a lap led 1 for the most led 3 for the win. Maybe add 1 point for winning the pole as well. What do you guys think?

        Daytona

        Chicagoland

        Michigan

        Charlotte

        Watkins Glenn

        Talladega

The tracks are just what I had in mind if you have any ideas of different schedule throw it out there.

(Noob alert rant - even though I shouldn't be...)

I tried jumping on late last night and turn some laps at Chicagoland but none of the default setups work. I couldn't pass inspection and gave up in frustration. This was really disappointing since I was simply trying to practice and couldn't even get on the track. I guess I could have left the game, pulled a google or iracing forum search for a setup and jump back in but that defeats the quick practice purpose.

I really think iRacing should consider creating another platform (casual sim) on the existing software engine. I get why they want to keep it hardcore but they alienate the less-sim/arcadey crowd. I would be curious to see how many more people would join up if they had an option to run iRacing hosted races or offline with AI, customizable aids/damage and quick setups that actually worked.

I'm sure they feel obligated/constrained to stay hardcore because their existing sim crowd is ruthless when it comes to implementing anything user friendly. Case in point, the stink that was made in the iRacing forums when they added the option for aids, camera view and racing line to hosted sessions!

At the end of the day, all I want to do is turn some laps and have fun doing it. Unfortunately, I have to turn to a 9yr. old game to do that.

BTW: I'm 100% iRacing owner and my subscription is valid for the next 1.5yrs.

I was in a practice session at Talladega and running with a fairly large pack when the "Big One" happened. I saw a tiny opening and went for it, I was amazed at how I drove through this without touching a single truck.

That was a nice one! I did a Tally race the other night and my iRating is probably still dropping!

Thanks don't know why, guess it's just luck but for some reason I miss the big one at Daytona and Talladega more times than not.

iRacing say's the old Nationwide car will become the new NASCAR K&N Pro Series car, it will lose horsepower for the new series. The car will not have the new tire model at this time. No word if any other changes will come along with the car.

Man this new update is out of this world amazing, 2 car drafting close to 200, Goodyear tires, glowing brake rotors. iRacing has stepped it up big time.

Yeah, very solid build. Looks like I'll have to hook my wheel up and fire up iRacing again.

Just started next to last in a field of 26 at Talladega me and the last guy hooked up in the high lane went all the way to the front in 3 laps. I was the lead car and was doing 202 in the turns. I'm loving this stuff.
