Re: I have the NASCAR The Game: Inside the Line

Just a small update for some of the issues going on with the game as of 11/9 from Dave at EUT.

    "
Hi everyone, just wanted to deliver a quick update on the issues some people have unfortunately been experiencing. We fully understand that it can be very disappointing when a new game has issues that affect your enjoyment, and we're extremely grateful that many of you have been providing very useful and constructive feedback.

We've spent the last couple of days researching the issues that are being reported and determining the precise causes. Thanks to the feedback you've given us, we're now able to talk with Activision and arrange a way to resolve the problems as quickly as possible.

We're already testing several fixes including addressing the majority of online problems and we'll be keeping you updated with news as it becomes available. Our apologies again for those people experiencing issues. We are listening and we will be doing everything in our power to sort out any problems"

Re: I have the NASCAR The Game: Inside the Line

I hear you guys on Martinsville. But the problem I had was no AI was trying to pass the other unless my car was nearby. They seemed to run in a bunched up conga line very close to each other for 30 plus laps. In real life they spread out a bit more. I totally get the bottom is the place to run around Martinsville though. It is certainly the least of the tracks I have a problem with.

I think the AI runs in these bunched up conga lines at numerous tracks with little to no attempt to pass each other. They need to spread out more looking to try and pass each other. That is my main complaint. I did see that at California though.

at this point until a patch is released, do you all believe it's best to start a career without tire wear and fuel which would mean no pit stops? i tend to run shorter races anyway (10-15%).

It hasn't been a problem for me (yet), but you can try some single races and see how it goes for you. I think you can change everything up race-to-race in career mode too, as you like it.

Not in my eyes it's not. Doing that would just lead to a lot of pole winners winning the race. At least with pit stops even though they are not perfect, it mixes up the field giving you some different guys running up front at times. At least for me that is how I like it. I saw Sam Hornish Jr. win the Daytona 500, that was great. Then Truex won the next 2 races, and leads the points after like 6 or 7 races. I think with no stops at all, and not a lot of passing by the AI cars you would see whoever qualified well, finish well, and as I said before that would lead to a lot of pole winners winning races.

                    Season mode/ Hard / 2x wear / 188 laps - Phoenix

Great green flag racing except for the Plate racing lines. Cars were always lined up in 4-5 car packs lined up until I got next to them. Then they would break up the train and try and pass or take different lines.

There were 5 cautions caused because of the A.I cars trying to merge onto the track after leaving the pits after a green flag pitstop. They just crashed right into other cpu cars as if they were not there. Seems like they had a problem getting back up to speed after re-entering the track after watching the replays. Once I saw it happen right in front of me.

Last 5 laps of the race. The 24 car is leading and I am in 2nd. I had nothing left to catch him. Yet I did. Why? Because he would not pass a lapped car.

I purposely stayed behing him and watched what he would try to do and he did nothing. He had plenty of room to make the pass but just would not do it. There were no other lapped cars around.

I could have passed them both with no problem and I did but I let the 24 win because he should have won. I just let off and let him finish ahead of me. He was still following the lapped car as he crossed the line.

If the online and the A.I issues get resolved, this will be one of the best racers period and not just the best Nascar console racer. I love the green flag racing and can't get enough of it.

After causing a bad wreck on a restart with a few laps left in a long race (cant remember which track) I used the rewind feature, and upon the start I was the only car to reach full speed, all others kept a slow pace and seemed to stay in 2 lines as if they were still under caution preparing for restart. I had no other "rewinds" and it was less than 5 laps so I just finished the race out. As I was coming around for the checkered, I had closed so much on the group of cars that in 2 more laps I probably would have easily lapped the entire field.

Despite the bugs and stuff, I'm still enjoying the game. It could be better, and hopefully a patch or 2 will do it, but I'm not so bothered by it that I will get rid of the game.

You used the rewind feature? I forgot all about that, I don't even know how to do it. Of course I don't care either, I would never use it. Of course to each his own I guess.

I only use it if its something I do that involves a lot if cars that would ruin where they finish in the race. I try not to ruin other's days unless its a realistic case. In this case I just went too hard into a guy trying to draft and got took out far too many cars, including the entire top 6. I didn't want to see guys like JJ, Kyle Busch, Jr., and Smoke go out like that...I got a cheap win, but it let those guys finish well enough to help them in the standings.

This is perfect explanation of why I have put game away until hopefully game saving patch is released to fix AI. The numerous AI flaws ruin the offline experience for me and make it unplayable. Green flag racing might be nice, but is always ruined by AI stupidity. Ill check back after patch released. Very frustrating.

If you are waiting for a patch that will work with this company then you will never get to play. They are gonna worry about the on-line people first, because they are the ones that make the most noise about the problems. It's by far not unplayable, last years game was pretty close. The AI pitting is really bad, no doubt about that, but that can be fixed, just make it so know one has to pit.

If that is the case, then i will cut my losses and trade in. Not wanting to have a so-called sim-racer where pitting is a huge part of Nascar, and not have pitting. I hope you are wrong and they attempt to fix.
