Great, now my Wii is dying...wonderful.
EDIT - just went to Nintendo forums, seems to be common, but it means the system is dying. There are a ton of dead Wii's out there, at least on the Nintendo forums. Kind of shocking as I think I've heard of one on here.Last edited by ExtremeGamer; 08-01-2007, 09:14 AM.Comment

Question, has anyone had the Wii take a long time to load something? For example, the Wii Shop, you click it and stare at a black screen for a little bit, it may eventually go to what you clicked or you have to reset? Last night I had it happen with Mario Strikers. I put it in, clicked it, and stared at a black screen for a bit. Reset, repeat, same thing, after a minute it loaded up. It's done that before with like I said the Shop or maybe clicking into Mii's before. Just curious if it's happened to anyone else.

Nunchuck moves you around. The Z I believe is how you drop items ala Mario Kart
The WiiMote, you press A to pass, and B to shoot, you can hold it down for a better shot. When on D, if you waggle the Wiimote, you tackle the opposing team. yeah, it's that simple.Comment

Well I just filed a repair claim with Nintendo. Recently I've been noticing little sparkly pixel artifacts on my games and on the Wii menu. Examples include the mat on Punch-Out, cutting veggies on 'Cooking Mama', and the top left of the Mii Plaza. They don't affect the game at all, but it's just some annoying flickering pixels.
I found a story on Kotaku about overheating with WiiConnect24 on (the system gets quite warm) causing these issues...since the fans don't turn on. I probably killed it since there was a span of a few weeks where I didn't turn it on, but it looks like a graphics card issue (same thing happens if I overclock my CPU card too high).
Oh well, I'm under warranty, they'll send out the box, and all my games and saves are supposed to be transferred.

That's why i got my wii...i was in Gamestop going to buy Nascar for the 360, but the guy said something like "I'm amazed we actually have some Wii's in" so I got one on the spot. Well my Wii will be on it's way back to Nintendo tomorrow. Had the random pixel artifacts on games and menus (rumored to be from the WiiConnect24 being on) and will be out of commission for 2-4 weeks. I just hope a bunch of great VC games don't drop while I'm Wii-less.
Can't wait to try 'Mario Strikers: Charged' when I get it back, though.
An interesting tidbit though, which shows the return rate is small...they only sent the shipping labels, no pre-paid box!
