Question, has anyone had the Wii take a long time to load something? For example, the Wii Shop, you click it and stare at a black screen for a little bit, it may eventually go to what you clicked or you have to reset? Last night I had it happen with Mario Strikers. I put it in, clicked it, and stared at a black screen for a bit. Reset, repeat, same thing, after a minute it loaded up. It's done that before with like I said the Shop or maybe clicking into Mii's before. Just curious if it's happened to anyone else.

well, mine goes right to the game or the other channels.

Great, now my Wii is dying...wonderful.

EDIT - just went to Nintendo forums, seems to be common, but it means the system is dying. There are a ton of dead Wii's out there, at least on the Nintendo forums. Kind of shocking as I think I've heard of one on here.

Man, you have had some bad luck this gen. I am still on a launch system with all three consoles. BTW, how is Strikers? I am thinking of picking it up today as I thought the orignal was a blast

Yeah, I'm close to really hating this hobby, and I baby everything. I have PS1 games that look brand new. I'm on 360 #3, PS3 #2, and looks like Wii #2.

I like it, the wife liked it too, so that made it more fun. Pretty easy to play.

Mine's been doing that since I got it. It has only not gone to the next place once and that was a long time ago. I figure it was just hung up with some network thing. It definitely doesn't happen all the time though.

Mine doesn't either, just every now and then. Reading through the technical stuff on the Nintendo forums, seems it's an issue with the hardware. I'm going to play around with it more tonight, because last night was the first time it happened twice in a row like that.

CAn you give a bried description of the controls?

Nunchuck moves you around. The Z I believe is how you drop items ala Mario Kart

The WiiMote, you press A to pass, and B to shoot, you can hold it down for a better shot. When on D, if you waggle the Wiimote, you tackle the opposing team. yeah, it's that simple.

Well I just filed a repair claim with Nintendo. Recently I've been noticing little sparkly pixel artifacts on my games and on the Wii menu. Examples include the mat on Punch-Out, cutting veggies on 'Cooking Mama', and the top left of the Mii Plaza. They don't affect the game at all, but it's just some annoying flickering pixels.

I found a story on Kotaku about overheating with WiiConnect24 on (the system gets quite warm) causing these issues...since the fans don't turn on. I probably killed it since there was a span of a few weeks where I didn't turn it on, but it looks like a graphics card issue (same thing happens if I overclock my CPU card too high).

Oh well, I'm under warranty, they'll send out the box, and all my games and saves are supposed to be transferred.

After all this time having no console problems I've had the red lights on the 360 and now my Wii needs to be repaired in the span of three weeks.

Oh, and if anyone is looking for Wii systems I was in Wal-mart yesterday around one in the afternoon and they had seven in the case. Maybe they are finally meeting demand?

I look every time I go into a store and have since they were released and still I have yet to see one in person.

That's why i got my wii...i was in Gamestop going to buy Nascar for the 360, but the guy said something like "I'm amazed we actually have some Wii's in" so I got one on the spot. I figured in a month or two I'd be doing the sunday morning hunt and hope

Well my Wii will be on it's way back to Nintendo tomorrow. Had the random pixel artifacts on games and menus (rumored to be from the WiiConnect24 being on) and will be out of commission for 2-4 weeks. I just hope a bunch of great VC games don't drop while I'm Wii-less.

Can't wait to try 'Mario Strikers: Charged' when I get it back, though.

An interesting tidbit though, which shows the return rate is small...they only sent the shipping labels, no pre-paid box!

Then again, it could just be further Nintendo cost cutting...
