Most sports game suck *** anyway. I'd go for the Wii.

Based on what I've read, it seems that Madden Wii 07 is probably better than the 360 and PS3 versions in terms of gameplay.

I'm pumped to buy madden 08 on Wii. I hope it will re-energize me on Madden, which IMO has gotten very stale in recent years.

After playing Wii Sports, I think that Madden will be fun again on the Wii.

After the impressions The Wii is my next console. The PS3 can kiss it.

Ok guys....here is my question:

I am going to either buy a Wii or a 360 in the next month or so. So far, the Wii sounds incredible, but would it suffice as a stand alone gaming machine. Obviously, I'm a sports gamer primarily, will the Wii quench my sim gaming needs better or worse than a 360?

I'm a sports gamer primarily as well, but am going to buy the Wii for now and pass on the other two. However, I might be a bit of a different situation because I'll be hanging on to my xbox to still play games like Winning Eleven and NFL2k5, which are timeless to me and can be enjoyed over several years.

I think the Wii will make for some great sports gaming. Maybe not as "sim-like" as we are used to, but a new approach that will really be immersive. If however, you aren't excited at all by games like Zelda or Metroid, etc...then you should really think hard about whether or not the Wii would satisfy you.

Well after playing Wii sports with a couple of friends the system and Wii sports alone are worth $250 and a ton of fun. I think when people actually try it out and see how the new controls are they won't be able to go back to the old control scheme.

That's true for me simply from playing the demo kiosks a number of times.

Could never play a tennis or baseball game with a regular controller any more. Time will tell with games like Zelda, Red Steel etc.

I was able to do something with the Wii that I wasn't able to do since the Sega Genesis... I got my parents to play a video game.

both are 60. At first it was kind of rough going for them with the bowling... my dad gave up for a bit, but later on in the day wanted to try again. Well. he got it that time... then he played the baseball. and golf... he found that he didn't have to do all the motions exactly like real life, so he could sit down.

My mom was really into the bowling and golf....

it's just weird having them interested in games again.


I thought this system was going to be to much of a Gimmick.
My intial feelings.... I was really really really wrong. I don't really know how I can go back to a golf game and not actually swing the remote. It really feels like you have control and if you botch the shot it truly is your fault... not the miss timing of a meter or relying on your thumb to swing straight.

Super Swing Golf should be pretty cool.


I can't wait to see what Virtual Console games they have.

I wasn't able to get Component cables yet, but I'm more than satisfied with the graphics in 480i Standard Def. It's like the XBox and Gamecube, which to me were more than fine. Yeah all the HD games on the 360 and PS3 look nice and amazing, but I keep thinking about my swing in Wii golf.... or just bowling a couple more frames.

This may sound strange...but...has anyone with shoulder problems played the Wii for a while? I have one of those bone on bone situations and holding up the remote to point at the screen would be a problem. When I tried the kiosk I was so close that I had to extend my arm fully to point at the screen and it was uncomfortable. So, anyone with issues like that playing and if so how is it?

Never predicted I would make a post like this...

I stopped enjoying Nintendo around the N64 era. Sure there were some good games on the cube, but they were few and far between. I told myself I wouldnt get a Wii at all after seeing Nintendos strategy with that god awful control.

So here I am, got a 360 with 20 games or so, a brand new ps3 with 4 games....and just got home with a Wii.

Wii sports graphics looked horrific for next get, so I certainly wasnt looking forward to it at all. Just to test the controller out, my g/f put it in and fired up tennis...

5 hours later and an entire hall of folks later, the Wii is still going strong.
Besides xbox live arcade, this is the only time my g/f has played a game for any extended lenght of time. She was having so much fun with Wii Sports...( and she hates sports games ) that she went down the hall and got some of her friends to come play with her.

Needless to say, my room was packed full of people playing the Wii....

Just a few days earlier we had camped out as a group for the ps3s, and its already collecting dust. Never in a million years would I have predicted that.
Had you told me last week I would have a ps3 and not even have a desire to play it, Id have laughed in your face.

I predicted the Wii would be a diaster. I was wrong.

So far out of all the next gen systems.....my ps3 is the diaster.

hah! the reason why i have the gamecube was Mario Party...my place would be filled with friends and girlfriend friends by the end of the day....hats of to nintendo for the Wiimote because now they will have to actually move around to play *evil grin*

I want to try it, but I can't get my Wii to work with my wireless setup. The connection test always succedes but then I get an error code while it is updating. I'm going to try to resolve it today. Anyone else have this problem? It's error code 32002 which is just an ambiguous "Internet error."

I don't have the Wii but I wonder if its the router you are using. The DS had a list of acceptable routers it would work with and some wouldn't. Maybe the Wii has similar issues. Here is a link to the routers that would/wouldn't work with the DS.
