    Re: Official Wii Impressions

Thanks for the impressions guys. I tell you what. I am phsyced for this console. The thing that has me most excited is that the Wii is looking to be the new way of gaming. Yes the Ps3 and 360 has nice graphics and some good games but the Wii is looking like it will bring the fun back into videogames. What videogaming used to be. I got rid of my 360 because I just wasn't playing it. Yes it has a bunch of new good games just released but it felt like been there done that. With the Wii it seems like people that wouldn't normally get into videogames are into them again. And the option to download classic games that were simple yet fun is great. Keep with the impressions. Thanks Guys and Gals

Gamespot reviewed a few, gave them decent reviews, best one so far seems to be F-Zero.

They're reviewing games that have been released for 5-15 years? I'm just curious to see how big the game files are personally since I pretty much know what to expect from them gameplay wise.

I Was beginning to think the controller would just be gimmicky too, but after reading the impressions, I'll be purchasing a Wii now to go alongside of my 360.

IGN does the same thing with the XBLA games, they review them as to how their running on the system and how they fair to today.

I will download Mario 64 tonight Fresh, so I'll get back to you on that download size.

where is this, when does it come out, and for what games will it work? this could revolutionize FPS's forever.

That will be awesome if it can be used for FPS's, that will really revolutionize the genre for sure no doubt about it.

Didn't Namco use a gun for Time Crisis?

um well namco's games weren't true FPS's. you had no control over your movements in the spatial sense. this is revolutionary.

Time Crisis was like Duck Hunt in a sense where you could control your body movements on the screen as you were shooting. You were on rails while shooting at your targets.

I think that what a developer needs to do is use the Nanchuck for movement in a FPS, and then have that gun (whatever its called) to shoot at your enemies.

Actually, I don't even think the nunchuck would be needed at all. It appears the gun attachment has an analog stick and I would suspect that would be used for movement.

I just noticed that. I would rather use both the Nanchuck and the analog on the Gun.

Small comparison of both the XBOX1 and Wii specs below.

I absolutely liked and enjoyed the XBOX1 graphics, so I have no problem with the Wii being close to X1 graphics but better. I think that the more and more that developers work with the Wii, that they will tap into the system to get the best out of it.
