Yeah, certain areas in Zelda get that way for me. I'll get vertical streaks of flashing green. Only certain areas of the game, not everywhere. Nowhere in any other games. I don't have Madden, so I can't say.

I thought it might be a problem with my component connection. So I cleaned the hook-ups, blew out any dust, etc., still had the problem. Then I tried a different component input, and still had it. I think it may just be a weird thing in Zelda. I was considering calling Nintendo myself.

Now the good news. I read a lot about the customer service of Nintendo being great etc.. Now I experienced it.

Just got off the phone with them. They are sending me a new system (should have within 3-5 days) and once it gets here I just send back my old system.
Talk about peace of mind when it comes to dealing with a company. I've never had an issue with Nintendo hardware and now the first time I do I experience some great customer service.

      Nintendo
Huh. Guess I should have read that. I'll be giving Nintendo a call today.

Will I be able to transfer my saves? I'm about 25 hours into Zelda and don't wanna lose that.

Component video on an SD question for ya all....

My 360 is on an HDTV with component but as the "family" system the WII is on a regular 36" SD Sony... My guess is that the component cables (it's currently just hooked up with the standard cables) would not really help me much (would rather not spend it if it would not help that much) ----- THOUGHTS PLEASE....thanks

To answer your question. I think you would only gain in aspect ratio. So instead of being limited viewing Wii games in 4:3 you'll be able to use the Widescreen mode 16:9 ratio. Some say it makes the games look better as you can see more but others have said certain things in the game looked a little stretched in 16:9.

I personally play my Wii games in 4:3 with the standard cables and the games look just fine.

If you have an SD card, you can transfer it over (SD cards are used in most digital cameras)

Thanks to cheapassgamer.com I bought a 1 gig SD card for $14.95 at CC last week. This week they're selling a 2 gig SD card for $34.95 after a rebate. I'm not sure if the Wii supports a 2 gig card.

It does. I'm using a 1 gig card I got on Black Friday from Office Max for 12 bucks (no rebate)

I thought there was no need for an SD card.

If you have a SD card most saves can be transfered there. EXCEPT any Virtual Console games and points. If you want these saved I believe you have to send them your system. They'll ask you all these questions when you call and set up the right repair for you. I had no VC games or points so I went the "Get new, then send old" route.

I'm right there with you, bro. Tell you what...if I find one first, I'll try and get two, and sell you one for $250 if you do the same for me. Deal?

I played Rayman last night at a friends house, that was a lot of fun. I might have to buy or at least rent that one for a while. I liked shooting those evil little bunnies with plungers, LOL!

So I finally exchanged gifts with my sister, and she got me RE 4!!

I'm pumped, I've heard its a great game.

Anyways, this now gives me incentive to go buy a wavebird. Quick question about how it works. I plug the receiver into the gamecube ports, obviously. Do I need to have a direct line of sight between the controller and the receiver, or can it be obstructed? I ask because of the current set up I have now wouldn't allow a direct line of sight.

                              Thanks!
