Well after a long wait I have finally obtained a Wii, well for a while 2 of them, but thats a long story. Wow, I really havent had this much fun with games for a while. And the best thing is that my girlfriend loves it as well, maybe more than I do. Im looking forward to being a part of this Wii community.

What games do you have Syphon? I suspect a lot more people will pick up a Wii once Mario comes out.

Same here...just picked one up.

Loving it so far. It's funny too, because I've never played non-sports games. Always been an NBA, NHL, Winning Eleven player for as long as I can remember. Now though, I'm stoked about games like Metroid, Mario, etc...games that are just "fun" and have that creative edge to them. I never could get into ultra-realistic/violent games like Halo and Gears. It's ok to take things seriously, but Nintendo seems to put out games that let you escape into fantasy without being so intense about it.

It's funny how things like graphics aren't as important to me anymore. You realize how much time developers must spend trying to make Allen Iverson's tattoos accurate instead of focusing on interesting controls and gameplay. Power Pros is a great example of how graphics really mean nothing in the end when you have great gameplay. I'll even throw out a bit of realism in my sports games at this point. It's pretty obvious that most sports game developers aren't dedicated to the sim community, so it's a frustrating battle each year when practically every game has something that turns us off (ie. no lefty hr's in MVP06, etc....)

Anyways, I'm also happy to join the Wii community...can't wait for Super Mario Galaxy either...I have a feeling that game will rule us all.

What games do you have Syphon? I suspect a lot more people will pick up a Wii once Mario comes out.

Well my gf and I went kinda crazy with the games. We picked up Super Paper Mario, My Sims, Elebits, Mario Party, SSX Blur, Carnival Games, and DDR.

Have to say Im enjoying them all...even SSX eventhough its been kicking my butt with these controls. Needless to say I have Galaxy and Brawl already ordered.

Well my gf and I went kinda crazy with the games. We picked up Super Paper Mario, My Sims, Elebits, Mario Party, SSX Blur, Carnival Games, and DDR.

Have to say Im enjoying them all...even SSX eventhough its been kicking my butt with these controls. Needless to say I have Galaxy and Brawl already ordered.

SSX is so awesome once you get the trick controls down. I played that game for months. I love hitting the half-pipes.

Syphon, pick up Zelda: Twilight Princess too. That game is a blast. And Metroid is a must-have in my opinion. That game absolutely owns.

How many of you guys are going to be picking up Guitar Hero III on the Wii?

This is probably going to be a dumb question but since I just got my Wii I figure I better ask. Do you have to have the Wavebird or Gamecube controller to play Gamecube games or is there someway to use the classic controller for this? I presume you need the wavebird but figured I would ask anyways.

A Wavebird or regular GC controller for 'cube games...sorry. Though if you can't find a quality Wavebird the generic Wal-mart wireless GC controller works pretty good. I bought the latter as opposed to the gross used Wavebird that my local Gamestop had.

The used one I got at Gamestop looks pretty damn good. Doesn't appear to have had much use. I went ahead and went wireless since it was only 3 bucks more than the used wired one. It was $17.99.
