    Q*Bert Hops to PS3
Sony Online continues its Store support with a classic.

February 15, 2007 - The folks at Sony Online Entertainment have just given word that a brand new version of the arcade classic Q*bert is heading to the PlayStation Store next week. Slated for February 22 at a price of $4.99 US, Q*Bert will bring the famous pyramid hopper to the high-definition era and boast a number of PS3-specific features.

Though heavier details are still forthcoming, Sony has confirmed that Q*Bert will support a max resolution of 720p in addition to rankings for worldwide leaderboards. "Who will be the Supreme Noser" is the chosen tagline for the game, and the little orange hero's arch-nemesis Coily will be back as well.

I never knew it's been around that long. Very fun game and for $4.99 that's a good deal.

It released back in the early 80's. It makes us feel so darn old. LOL!

Yup, that's what I played it on as well. Great game, this will probably be a purchase for me. Damn, I'm old.

I am all about Q-Bert. I wasted many an hour playing that game.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

FlOw, Q-Bert and a Ridge Racer demo coming this Thursday

Playstation 3 owners will have something other than Virtua Fighter 5 to choose from this week as Sony will be releasing two new titles for their online service and a relic from the past in demo form.

The long awaited aquatic enigma FlOw will be making its way to the Playstation Network with a price tag of $7.99. Joining it will be the perpetually-hopping, foul mouthed, not to mention terrible roommate known as Q-Bert. We may not have anything nice to say about the guy, but his game is a classic and will be available for $4.99.

And in case you passed it up at launch, a free demo of Ridge Racer 7 will be made available and capable of that magical resolution of 1080p.

flOw looks cool, reminds me of an underwater "REZ", and i'll probably pickup Q-Bert as well.

I've been playing floW, its in my honest opinion not a game, its more of an intermission, a chilaxing experience. Its like a manipulating a screen saver to an awesome music experience. It shows you how precise the SixAxiS really is for example you can control this game with one hand.

                        a quick tutorial

Palm up, now place the controller in your hand, now place your thumb between the analog sticks. Fold your pinky finger under the controller and place your two middle fingers between the triggers and place your index finger over a trigger button ever so lightly.

Now, when you push you thumb up and tilt the front of the controller down, you will make the character go up.

when you push your 2 middle fingers up, tilting the controller down, you will make the character go down.

Left and Right: tilt the controller in the desired direction.

Use your index finger on a trigger button for speed boost.

The SixAxiS is so responsive, their is no need for exagerrated movement, this game or non game is so relaxing you can sip some wine while you play. Their is no punitive damage no I'm going to die, just a visual/aural experience(depended upon your set up).

If you're looking for a battle or somekind or winning experience skip this non-game, this is an experience. I like to liken it to an alternative music a different genre, are you willing to cross the line.

I agree with everything you said about flow but IMO the controller takes away from the experience. Then again i'm not the biggest fan of the PS3 controller. Try laying on your back while playing flow and moving the controller not as good as sitting up IMO.

The SixAxiS is perfect for this game, you don't have to do any jerking, all you have to do is slightly tilt the controller(manipulate it in your hand) in the desired direction and it will do it, Lying down as well as sitting up. It is so easy to do just like I described in my previous post. Hell you can be in the other room and tilt the controller and it will respond accordingly. No buttons to push except for boost.

Rodster, try this for me, take your hand, palm up, now take your thumb and move it around in your hand, this is all you have to do to move the character, pretty soon it becomes second nature. NO PUSHING, PULLING, or JERKING, just calm tilting in the desired direction. Thanks for the lying down part, its the best way to play.

It enables HDD capability for games like Final Fantasy XI (PS2) that used the HDD so you can play it on the PS3.
