I don't know how you can only play one game at a time. That gets boring as hell.

I, too, am guilty of gaming ADD currently. I used to only buy 2-3 games a year but this year I've gone well above that.

Since getting another PS2, I've gone back and picked up a ton of cheap used titles and then for the 360, I've bought Madden, NHL, UFC, Legends of Wrestlemania and NBA Live all new this year.

I'm tempted to get NCAA Basketball, but am going to hold out until after Christmas.

Starting in 2010, I'm going back to buying 2-3 games and I might get less then that as I have a good 10-12 games between the 2 consoles to keep me busy.

one word of advice though - try playing rainbow six vegas 2 online in co-op terrorist hunt, its a freakin adrenaline rush man!!
Lol... Well, I bought my 360 used in a bundle on craigslist, and it came with Rainbow Six, Viva Pinata, Halo 3, and a couple other games that I traded in. I went out and got Madden 09 and NBA 2K to play with my roomie, and then got others. But at some point I just decided that I didn't want to get a $9.00 credit on something I paid $60.00 for, hence the 30 or so games on my shelf that go neglected. I'm also guilty of going to the game store and seeing something that I kind of wanted to check out for cheap. Spiderman: Web of Shadows is a perfect example. I went to the store and got Fight Night Round 4 (before it was released, first time I was ever able to do that!) And saw Spiderman there for what I thought was pretty cheap, and figured I'd scoop that too. I should have known that I wouldn't ever play it, lol. I'm messed up because I'm buying games because they are cheap, not because I really want to play them. The worst thing is when theres one you're really looking forward to, and it just turns out to be not as good as you thought *cough*Ultimate Alliance 2*cough*

Anyway, I got an ad on Craigslist trying to trade these for PS3 titles... If anybody is interested, get at me.

And as far as your above suggestion, I'm sure it is fun, but now I got Modern Warfare 2, so obviously it gets my FPS time, lol.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

Ok lets see how I do.

All Pro Football - I play once a week still. Top 3 favorite game.

NHL 10 - Amazing game. One of the best online games.

Madden 10 - Really enjoyed this year and still play it often.

Fifa 09 - Like it, but lack of sliders has kind of limit my time with it.

Fight Night Rd 4 - Still playing it.

NBA Live 10 - Still play it often. Great Live for a change.

Forza 2 - Played it a ton, got my moneys worth of it.

Dirt 2 - BADASS!!!! Need to play it more.

GTA IV - On last mission, need to beat it, started LaTD.

            NHL 09 - Moved on to 10

Trials - Very cool little game. Beat almost all of it.

Brothers in Arms HH - Couple hours in.

Assassins Creed - So repetitive I lost interest in playing it

UFC 2009 - Played a ton, got my money worth

Ultimate Alliance 2 - Pretty darn far into it, need to finish

Halo Wars - Did not dig it, played it couple hours and traded in.

Virtua Fighter 5 - Played it a ton Moved on to Tekken 6

Rock Band - Played it so much just about all the equip don't work any longer

Battlefield 1943 - Like it alot, just have not played it enough.

Batman AA - Beat it, one of the best games of the year.

Mercenaries 2 - Played it for a little while, need to play it more.

Tiger 09 - To easy, I lost interest at shooting 20 under to much lol

Fallout 3 - Have yet to beat. But plan on it

Skate 2 - Great game and played it this weekend

NCAA 09 - Not as good as madden so no more play time

Gears 1 & 2 - Beat both, not a fan of multiplayer so put it down.

MLB 2k9 - Do we really need to talk about why I don't play this.

Condemned - Cool game but can't get past certain spot.

Guitar Hero 3 - One of my fav games ever.

Too Human - Cool game but is really hard

BF Bad company - Beat it, played multiplayer and then put it down.

            Rainbow Vegas 1 & 2 - Played a lot and then shelved

Ace Combat 6 - Cool game but to arcade for me

Mass Effect - Almost beat it but traded it in

Dead or Alive 4 - Tekken 6 and VF5 are better

Saints row 1 & 2 - Never beat them but played them both a good bit.

Splinter Cell DA - Got pretty far but liked the multiplayer alot more. Just poor servers force me to trade it in.

Turok - Beat it and traded in

Lego Star wars - Traded in after a few hours

Halo 3 - Beat it and traded in

Crackdown - Played hours and hours and hours of this

Rockstar table tennis - Cool game just gets old after a while

Tony Hawk Project 8 - Skate 2 took its place

Dead Rising - Almost beat it but lost interest and traded in. Wish I did not cause I would like to play it again

Demon Souls - Playing this a good bit right now, just hard game

Tekken 6 - Best fight game ever

NBA 2k9 - Still play it but not as much as LIVE

Dead Space - Still trying to beat it, but i am stuck at a spot right now

Uncharted - Beat it, need to get second one soon

MGS - To much cut scenes so i traded it in.

Thats about what I have in my collection of 360 and PS3 right now. That is not including sport games of prior years. I have all the nba 2k7, ncaa 07-09, etc etc

I don't even want to attempt my PC titles, that would be another list twice as long as this one.

Great list Phobia but my only question to you is...

If you have a PS3, why did you buy MLB 2k9?

I'm guilty for not even firing up single player on COD MW2. Everytime I try, the multiplayer sucks me in!

                    Thanks Brett

Well guys it is a combination of things. First my dad only has a 360 and we try and figure out what games will be cool to play against one another. So he was talking about getting a baseball game. Then MLB2k9 was coming out soon at that point. So we choose it.

But I also have The Show 08 so I figured if I needed my baseball fix I could just play the last year one. But being that I am not a huge baseball fan the 08 version is really all I need.

Well I have sold off some of my games thus far, I don;t know why I do that, I buy games and then don't play them, I need to stick like 5 games in a rotation and thats it.

how do you guys get all these games then never play them? Every game I get I put at least a decent amount of time into, the only ones I didn't:

PES 2008: Just sucked pretty much all around

GTA IV: my disc constantly had freezing problems from the moment I got it. About a week after I purchased it I couldn't play longer than 5 minutes without it freezing. Traded it in and had no desire to play it any more.

Battlefield: Bad Company: Kinda got sucked in because of previews and the demo. Multiplayer was only reason I got the game and it didn't seem quite right. No friends played it either and I traded it in a week after I got it.

Assassin's Creed: Was repetitive and did not suck me in at all. Good thing I bought it used from a friend for $12.

mostly because they come out in bunches and they are all hyped. for me i hear about everyone getting such and such and i tend to want to check it out and see what all the hype is about. then when i actually get a chance to play i tend to simply want to play the games I am used to playing and enjoy the most, like sports titles and racing games.

I supposed I can see that if you have like two or three games collecting dust but when I hear of people that got like 10-30 games unopened I am thinking "wtf dude?"

I'm sure there's some great games I missed out on (never played Bioshock, for example) but for the most part I've really enjoyed the games I've purchased, in part because I had a good feeling I would like them. Then there were pleasant surprises like Borderlands and Mass Effect (I know ME is a really high-rated game but that type of game was never my thing) as well as some impulse buys like Street Fighter IV.

well for me i got 12 games during the best buy sale for like $140 so that is part of the issue...and then i've also been working long hours and traveling on the weekends so i've had much, much less time to play than what i've been purchasing.

there should be a happy medium, i guess maybe the biggest part of the problem is there aren't enough hours in the day. it's kind of like when you are starving hungry and you order a huge meal and only eat a small portion of it, same deal with games..

Gamefly has been a savior for me. I have a few games on rental now (Fifa 10 and MW:2) I also have Dragon Age for the PC. And I broke out Choops 2K8.

With Gamefly I have no guilt. Like I got Modern Warfare and I knew I was just gonna fly through the SP then send it back because the MP didn't interest me at all. I'm about done, but what's funny is I've lost interest in it because I'm so much more sucked into Dragon Age. I'll get back to it though and finish it off so I can clear the slot in my Gamefly que.

I got GF a few months ago and it's changed my gaming life because I've saved so much money. I can get the "hot title" but if it sucks, or I don't have time for it, it can sit there and gather dust. Or like Borderlands, I got bored real quick and sent it back. No guilt!

If only we could do the same with women.
