Re: Xbox One
And of those that you listed watching, how many plan on buying an XBone?
I've seen plenty of things that I think are "cool" but never would I buy them. Nothing else you've said is any different than what XBox fanboy crowd are saying.
Nobody is complaining about the game being stored on the hard drive. They're complaining that as a consumer their rights are being taken from them. Maybe you haven't ever bought (or sold) or know someone that has bought/sold a used game on eBay or Craigslist or anywhere... well, the buyer in those cases would have to pay two fees (one to you for the game, one to M$ for their ****ty system.)
There's much much more to used games than just GameStop.
This whole used game issue isn't even really an issue, I agree Microsoft has done a terrible job with their PR but it seems like this people are taking this out of context.
If you were to buy a download game from psn or live. ....you know you can't resell That right? Same concept, even though you buy a disc, truth be told you still don't own the rights to the gameComment

Re: Xbox One
You still own the disk which is what MS/GameStop/Sony is trying to regulate.

Microsoft Confirms Xbox One Kinect Can be Completely Turned Off
“Yes, you can turn the system completely off,” a Microsoft rep told Kotaku. “This would use no power and turn everything off. We are designing the new Kinect with simple, easy methods to customize privacy settings, provide clear notifications and meaningful privacy choices for how data will be used, stored and shared.

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
yea but will they take psn cards

Re: Xbox One
While that might be true, I'm very suspect of it. From the jump it has been said many times the console will always be on in some state whether that is fully on or in a sleep state. Now out the blue and way late since the kinect privacy issues all of a sudden it can be turned off. I seriously think MS is making it up as they go along. They had their vision of what they wanted to do, it blew up in their face, now they are going back and revising the issues people have had with the new system.
At least that is how I'm seeing this all go down.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Why would you have to pay Microsoft an additional fee? Once you remove the game from your system it automatically goes back to the disc and the disc is re sellable. The only difference now is that if the buyer of the game wants to replay that game he could re buy the right to play it, he technically sold it so he no longer owns it.

"Hey, have you tried the new Call of Duty?"
"No man, I want to but I don't know if I want to spend the money for it."
"Here, you can borrow it and see if you like it before you go spend the money."
"Oh, what's this? I need to pay a fee to play the game?"--

So..what he's saying is...if you turn off the Kinect you turn off the entire system. Didn't we know this already?
Or is he implying that you can turn the Kinect off, but still have the Xbox One on? Because he does not say that in that entire article. Whoever that guy is deserves a medal. He was VERY careful not to refer to the system itself nor whether or not the system is the entire thing or just the Kinect.
All this does is confirm and/or reaffirm what we already know about the system. Which is mostly negative until someone manages to gets their hands on the thing and provide a breakdown.Last edited by DukeC; 05-29-2013, 10:28 AM.Comment

RE: M$ Privacy Issues
If there are "modes" that allow you not to be seen by the camera, why can't one simply disconnect the camera. I'd feel a lot better about the whole thing.
They could have it where the light is turned off, but still on/recording etc.
If this wasn't true, they would have long diffused it IMO. Me thinks it's time to retool that strategy of theirs.Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Fool me three times, **** the peace sign, load the chopper let it rain on you.

Now Sony has done many things right. It did a good even keel reveal. It showed its direction with what gamers want to hear (gaming machine). They have the indie developers backing them up, a great exclusive lineup, best sports lineup of the consoles, fixing past issues like lack of cross game party chat, and creating a system easier to develop for. So with all those things considered it is going to be a uphill battle for MS to beat what Sony has put together, not only to draw the consumer in but also the developers (easier developing tools) and the indie guys with easy publishing or whatever they call it, but also getting past all the negative press they have created for themselves.
If I was a MS higher up, I would honestly be floored at how much their team has screwed the pooch on this one. It has been negative from the get go, before the reveal it was negative, then the reveal got hammered, then all the lack of information given and what needed to be dragged out of them (Still with unclear answers), and lastly going into E3 at a all time consumer low. I can see MS truly attempting every single move they can come up with to attempt to right the ship so to speak. I just think they have made enough gamers mad that they will go PS4 no matter what at this point.Last edited by Phobia; 05-29-2013, 11:10 AM.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I think it's cute that people still use "M$". Feel like it's 1995 all over again.
I need to see E3, but leaning towards PS4 at this current point, but not till 2014. Neither look like they are launch buys this year, too many great titles still hitting 360/PS3. Like Flawless a few pages back, I could easily see myself almost going WiiU this year, just for something different. Hell, if Nintendo could pull a few strings and get some of the bigger titles, I could just go that route.
In the end, I just want to play videogames. I don't care what else the thing does. Which is why PS4 is more appealing than XBox One right now.Comment
