We know at least one of the 8 is Kinect enhanced, but uses a controller. Crytek's Ryse is that game. Was formerly a Kinect only title, the one that had people somewhat interested.

Game Informer recently put up an article on old Xbox exclusives that they'd like to see again. They pretty much felt the same way as you.

I'm fairly certain you read that wrong. He was saying none of those games comes close to the popularity of Call of Duty...and even Black Ops 2 numbers dropped. He didn't say people wanted more of Call of Duty, he said people were getting tired of it....

Microsoft has something coming from Rare, Crytek, and whatever that game was yesterday from their own studio (couldn't watch that part in class). They've said 15 exclusives in the first year.

Sony hasn't said much, though we know they have something coming. Still, I see way too much assumption to make that argument definitively.
I didn't mean those games would be coming.

It was more about the first party developers and their recent history of producing solid games.

First and second party developers for both systems (with a bonus of third party exclusives.)

MS has a large list of developers that have been working on those kinect-only type games as well, but those don't merit mention, just as some of Sony's don't merit any mention being their games are more gimmick based or not that great.

After seeing how they will utilize the cloud for gaming, I will be upset if my Xbox isn't always online. There are tons of possibilities with cloud gaming.

Also, some that are so principled about always on being a system killer do make some valid points but at the same time there is some big time stubbornness going on. Some are claimng their internet is spotty or doesn't always work should be more passionate about that and demand their provider step up.

What concerns me most is developers being on top of things so rosters, various editing and improvements are done efficiently on the cloud. MS is providing the tools but developers need to be on it.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I would say my stance is not related to stubbornness in the least. There is pros and cons to both systems currently. Just more cons currently lie on the MS side for me. For one I completely disagree making a console so dependent on so many outside requirements for it to function at all(kinect & Internet). So I'm leaning heavily towards PS this time around because I see less room for error on their side. Now I will lose things I like such as the xbox controller and Xbox live service but the pros out weight those losses at the moment.

Two things play a major role for me, games/exclusives & system with the least weak points.

Its muddy currently there is mixed reports. Currently it sounds as if MS themselves don't know.

I wouldnt be surprised if this, along with the "used games fee" are things that MS hasnt even made their minds up about yet.

A lot of it sounds like someone reported a rumor, and others took it and ran with it.

Hence why I will wait for official word on both of these things before believing it and judging it

For now an internet connection is required, but you do not have to be connected to the internet 24/7. For now.

I don't have an internet problem, I just prefer if that wasn't a requirement.

I don't connect my 360 to the internet unless I need something.

                              Think of it this way.

I'm hoping to play my new game but for some reason, my internet is down. I've tried restarting the modem, router etc. but it still won't connect. Big deal, it's a single player game! So what if I'm not online on XBL? But then, I discover that I can't play the game until I get online. What do I do? I'm stuck because Microsoft is telling me that I'm not allowed to play this single-player game that I bought without my console going online first. There goes my Saturday afternoon plan, maybe I'll just go outside.

Yes, people can play some other time when their internet connection comes back up. It's not the end of the world. The fact of the matter is though, you're restricting my ability to play. If I'm playing a single-player game, the only factors that should come into consideration is a) do I have electricity and b) how much time do I have? When I'm playing BY MYSELF, being connected or not shouldn't be a factor in my gaming experience.

Not all of us live in a world where the internet doesn't drop its connection and is always blazing fast.
                              Well said.

I cannot say online check-ins would be the end of the world (and I'm not sure anyone else is saying that either) but I must admit issues with my internet connectivity are a frequent occurrence. I've upgraded the router in my current residence within the past few months but prior to that, spotty outages occurred every single day. This made playing a game like NBA 2K13 very difficult for a while, as many of their offline features required constant online capabilities.

Even with the new router, there are still numerous instances where online connectivity is just not a part of my life. I do travel frequently and there's often times where I'll stay with family or friends for an extended period of time in houses without connections.

As Leon said, I could easily make do without gaming in all of those instances. I never need the console. But I am dissatisfied with the notion of over-complicating something that shouldn't be complicated. It's like if toasters only became functional if checked in to an online service every day (to update data and toasting tendencies). If I wanted those extras, that's fine, but there's something offsetting about the idea of forcing a potential obstruction between what should be "Want to play game. Turn on game".

If you won't settle with a console that is not up to your standards (xbox one), why settle with an internet connection that also is below average? It's like you are mad at Xbox for calling out your internet connection.
