Microsoft can still definitely take my money vote between now and release, but having established the willingness to want to control my console, it's hard to jump right back in just because they pulled said policies.

Re: Xbox One
I dont like that it took preorder sale figures to get them to back off of the whole taking complete control stuff. They were completely content with taking away all control and giving us nothing back for it.
And they had the nerve to call our malcontent to their policy misguided and premature. If it was so misguided they would have stuck to their guns and we would have learned in time why we should jump head over heels to give up everything for a few exclusive titles. But as most saw, their was no real utopia at the end of that road.
That said, Im very glad they did flip. A part of me didnt want to see MS gaming completely fall off the planet.Comment

Re: Xbox One
This. It's bad that it took a lack of sale figures to wake Microsoft up to the fact that their policies were absolutely terrible. Why in the world did we have to connect to the internet every 24 hours in order to play games? I'm aware most people who purchase the console will have internet, but the idea of the policy is just silly.Comment

Pivoting to some other way to allow for tgose features months before launch isn't exactly realistic.
I would have gone into what these features were but I knew others would be happy to take it to the dead horses

We'll get them back when they can provide a more optional way to accomplish the same thing.

I do understand what you're saying, and I agree that changing systems so much before launch isn't realistic - but the sharing and stuff really has nothing to do with what MS took it away for.badComment

No, I'm saying the DRM stuff and the sharing stuff are completely separate. Talking as if they are related plays right into what MS wants.

That is what they want you to believe. Conform right into their conditioning.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 07-06-2013, 04:05 PM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Xbox One
Simple as that and all controllable by the OS and the Cloud. Is MS saying the OS and the great Cloud that can do anything can't handle running a simple IF statement and setting a sharable flag to 0 or N for all users who haven't checked in 24 hours?Comment

Re: Xbox One
So I know the always on and lack of used games was bad, but MS has reversed the policy. And yet, it seems most are favoring the PS4........why is that? I haven't really followed the news other than the headlines"You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

Re: Xbox One
2) The way MS treated the customers when they still had those policies in place has turned some people off.
3) The PS4 is the more powerful machine, with both having the same architecture.
Those are the three main reasons (or at least some combination of them.) Those with PSPlus now also can cite that as a reason because the free games they get with PSPlus are fairly new games that give amazing value to that service.badComment
