    Xbox One

You can't play a game in snap.

Edit: at least I'm pretty sure you can't. Can't imagine it would be fun even if you could.

I just have one question when you are watching TV and playing a game at the same time. Can the TV be switched to the larger screen while I play the game in the smaller box?

This was one of the key features that lead to her surprising me with this. Now I can go up to bed when she does and still play a game while she watches TV, but I know she won't be happy if her TV screen is just in the small box.
The game takes precedent in snap features. So tv will be smaller box as would any other app when game is running as well

Just get a second TV for your bedroom. Problem solved.

Or use game streaming. Big TV = watch TV, stream to your Windows 10 device.

            OR

Big TV = play game, and use game streaming to stream TV (as long as your TV signal isn't HDCP'd, which depends on your TV provider, cable box, and channel).

So I can in theory stream some tv to Smartglass? Or only Windows 10 computers? Will depend on my cable provider, box, and channel?

May have to mess with that, though I'm still probably killing cable soon...

                1) Using the USB TV tuner, all TV can be streamed to SmartGlass or Xbox App.
                2) Using HDMI, you can use the Xbox App on Windows 10 to start game streaming and launch TV. A lot of content will be copy protected (HDCP'd) but if it's not, you can stream via game streaming.

                Who is your cable provider?

                  Re: Xbox One

So I finally got around to streaming from my Xbox (wireless N) to my PC (Wired next to router) one face in Forza Horizon 2.

Far, far exceeded my expectations. I'm sure there is some amount of latency because how can there not be? But whatever small amount it was I was able to easy adjust and really couldn't even see much if any while tapping the brake for example and watching the brake light come on. Was able to comfortably win a race after starting a road trip.

                  Very nice feature.

                  Other points:

                  - wish I could mute the TV remotely, though I'm sure I can somehow. Could hear my living room AV thundering as I played. Edit: OK, I see how to do this.

                  - graphical fidelity takes a hit, probably less noticeable on less pretty games like Forza. Just a resolution thing really.

                  - for Forza, I missed the kinect. Wish I could give commands to my PC boom mic. Stuff like 'anna, next event' and taking screenshots were all things i wished I had quick access to playing just a single race.

Is there any way to not use the Xbox exclusively, so that some functions (like TV) can be used while I stream a game, for example? Not seeing how to do that. Feels like all or nothing, stream the entire experience.

Muting: The easiest way is probably to use the Universal Remote Control from the Xbox App, then go back into game streaming.

Taking over whole Xbox: At the moment, it takes nearly all of the system (aka non-game) resources to be able to stream the game that's playing, so no. We totally understand why folks want to do this.

                    Glad you're liking it!

                      Cox Cable....

I'll be updating my pc to Windows 10 some point soon, just have to back up my documents/pictures just in case. Not using the USB tuner yet, still weighing my options (that cheaper one that can do DVR vs. more expensive tuner that doesn't, but may in the future)

I just updated to Windows 10 and when I open the Xbox app on my PC there is no button on the left side to "connect" its just not there. Am I doing something wrong? I have my Xbox set to stream to other devises so I know its not that.

I haven't tried it yet (my Xbox arrives tomorrow) but I read that you need to update your Xbox app to the latest version - just make sure it is.

Ok, thanks, I'll try that. Wife is playing the Witcher 3 right now.

Edit: Did you mean on the system or the app in Windows 10?

I updated the Xbox and there is still nothing there to connect my system. I can't find any troubleshooting method for this. It knows its me, knows the last game I played, but no connection option. Getting pretty upset over this now.

You're missing this? I have that even when it doesn't detect an Xbox on the network. Strange.
