No Doubt. Some games take longer than others.

Probably to the point where I need to call support about my Xbox One. Amazon Video is reliably stuttering 2-3 times per movie, even hardwired.

Haven't experienced this problem on any other device, hardwired or wireless.

Sorry but none of the above was innovative at all. If anything, it's going backwards for one main reason - they were eliminating the choice/option to do what YOU (consumer) wants to do and instead, force what they (Microsoft) wanted to do.

You simply can't do that. Majority of gamers and consumers are not going to accept that. Plus, they did it two generations too early. A lot of areas in NA don't have a good internet connection so not only are you forcing stuff, you're also limiting your consumer base.

The media stuff is fine as a secondary focus and there for those who like all that stuff. However, that shouldn't have been focused on any of that and just focus on their games. In fairness though, Sony did the same thing at E3 2014 if I remember correctly. For me, the media stuff wasn't what turned me off. It was the required stuff I listed above.

As someone who preferred Xbox 360 over PlayStation 3, I didn't know which console I was getting first. Both were tied going into E3 2013. Like the majority of gamers, including those who were loyal to Microsoft during Xbox 360, the decisions they were implementing basically made my decision for me.

The Kinect stuff is great for those who use it and/or care about it. For those who don't, it's just a useless peripheral that costs an extra $100. The extra $100 could go towards games or an extra controller or Xbox Live Gold. The rest were just horrible decisions in general. Instead of building on what they built with Xbox 360, Microsoft was trying to change it all and majority of gamers/consumers weren't going to accept it.

Microsoft was arrogant, cocky and full of themselves just like Sony was when they introduced and launched PlayStation 3. It's almost like they take turns screwing up with each generation.

As for now, Microsoft should just stay the course. Phil Spencer has done an amazing job over the last two years and no reason to take a chance hurting the momentum that they have now. Xbox One is outselling Xbox 360 in the same time frame and they should just go the course and ride it out until their next console.

Just my own opinion though. One thing is for sure - E3 2016 will be very interesting. Less than two months to go!!!
This post is right on the money. Last gen I had two Xbox 360's and a PS3. I played 90% on my 360 and 10% on the PS3. When the PS4 and Xbox One were announced I went with the PS4 for the very reasons you described and I'm glad I did. I cancelled my Xbox live gold subscription after being on live since the Beta testing days. I waited two years for Microsoft to get their heads out of their asses and last October I finally got an Xbox One. I like it but not as much as I like the PS4 ,(except for the controller, that's great) but I'll use it for the Exclusive games and Ea access. I do fear though once i put a larger hard drive in my PS4 the X1 may start collecting dust. That's pretty much the only reason I'm using it now, I have more room with the 1TB HD on the One.

I don't want to clutter this thread up, but I felt this post deserved more than just a 'Like'.
Couldn't agree more with what you wrote.

I too was an MS/360 guy. I've owned several 360's and in fact I still own one for older games.
But when upgrading, I went with the PS4 for all the reasons you provided.

I'm probably still going to get an XB1 at some point as I like the controller and XBL to Sony's alternative.
The exclusives are also hard to turn down, as is the growing list of BC games coming to the console.

It's just too bad MS screwed up their launch so badly. If the XB1 had been touted and released as it is now, we'd have that in the house instead of a PS4.

It depends, it is up to the developer to allow it to be backwards compatible.

Anyone else having issues accessing the Power Mode & Startup option in their settings?

I can access and go into literally any and every setting option on my One, but when I try to enter the Power Mode & Startup option, it pretty much freezes the console and I have to completely restart it.

I did have my One set to always on, but it doesn't seem to be on that setting anymore as all of a sudden it doesn't auto download and install games in my queue unless I have the console fully powered on.

I had the setting sets to always on for months now and never changed it in recent weeks, but it's now like something is messed up with that one settings option.

The only thing I can think of is there's a bug or glitch in the latest Xbox Live Preview update that came out April 22nd. My Xbox shows that it successfully installed that Preview update around 3am April 24th, so it was still set to always on during that week, which I was in the middle of a trip to South Dakota and Minneapolis during it.

But now since I got back from my trip, I've only turned my console on maybe three times since I got home April 26th, but now it's like it doesn't recognize the always on setting, and with not even allowing me to enter the Power Mode settings without freezing the console, it's almost like the Power Mode options in the settings are bugged out.

Hadn't played my xbox in awhile as I was in a PS4 dazed state and forgot how much I love Xbox and Microsoft.

I'm really hoping they announce some good stuff for the future at E3.

Personally, I kind of fine these posts repetitive and boring at this point. Everyone knows MS had a botched launch, and everyone has their take on why. I'm not sure why it's an interesting discussion when people are saying the same things they did two years ago.

Damn. I'm not sure what's going on. I guess worst case I just have to leave my One sit there powered on all day today while I download all of the free Battlefield 4 and Hardline DLCs.

I agree....plus all the XBL and PSN downtime periods kinda prove that these systems are mostly "always on" anyways....

MS learned from their mistakes and let's just move on and not focus on all that...
