Still untrue. PC players abandoning games faster or slower than console games is a silly notion.

Thats fine. I just answered the mans question.

The point of the matter is, I'm not calling it fact for 100% justice, just gave him reasons ive heard other use as to why they'd love to have an equally powerful console instead.

      Makes me none either way.

I look at the Scorpio right now as a mid-tier machine (PC gaming wise). I don't see consoles ever being high end. We're talking about hardware that at times costs more than the actual console.

Achieving 4K is fine and dandy but other things to consider will always be FPS and all other details. These details will be no where as high as what a 1080ti pumps out.

Forbes has an article up about an analyst saying it could cost more than 700. No way that's happening right?

MS knows that at that price they're doomed. No way I see it at that price.
NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.

              Re: Xbox One

Sounds like an ignorant analyst to me. "Premium product" is just building up peoples expectations, so they can surprise people when the price is announced and it's cheaper than expected.

It won't be more than $499 and I could see it coming in under that. There's nothing crazy about the specs and the only surprising thing is the liquid cooling solution. Otherwise, I just don't see 4GB more memory adding that much to the BOM. A 1TB HDD, UHD Blu-ray player, and a Jaguar/Polaris 16nm process SoC will also be cheaper this year than last.

Some of the price rumors that have been thrown around for Scorpio since it was announced have been inane.

You're forgetting that back in the day Xbox 360 ran EA Sports games much better than the PS3 and the PS3 had much better hardware. It's about how they are programmed for as much as the actual hardware.

Better hardware does not mean it's a sure bet it'll have better made games.

PS3 didn't have much better hardware and both consoles this time have AMD chipsets.

The Xbox 360 had the better GPU and more RAM. The PS4 had the better CPU but was unknown tech at that time. Sony had hoped developers could utilize this CPU power in combination with the GPU to suppress the Xbox performance wise. However, developers chose to develop going the much easier route. Which is why you would see worse resolution and less\no AA on the PS3 sometimes.

This time the hardware is much the same. Even the ESRAM in the Xbox One is being virtualized for the Scorpio instead of being actual hardware.

My prediction remains the same - $400 for the 1TB model but I can see $500 for the 2TB model and maybe a digital game packed in. While majority see an October/November release for Scorpio, im actually predicting August 8th.

Get the console to market early in general but the main reason being Middle-Earth: Shadow of War having an August 22nd release date and thus far, being the only game confirmed to take full advantage of Scorpio outside of Microsoft's first party games.

Games wise, my predictions are Forza Motorsport 7 on September 26th, State of Decay 2 on October 17th and Crackdown 3 on November 7th. A different game in a different genre each month for Scorpio. Three first party exclusives and one multi-platform game.

Friend and I share games, my gold account ran out he said he would get it for me since I've bought games for him in the past. I have gold but it's like I don't have gold when it comes to checking gold deals and prices. I always have an offer to sign up and go Gold. Do I need to change some settings or I need to buy a 12 month Live card so I have my own Gold acct?

                            Re: Xbox One

Exclusives are important but not as much as people think they are. Third party games and support will always mean so much more simply because first party games will never be at the release rate of all the third party games.

Thus far, Xbox One has had Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Titanfall, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, Halo: MCC, Gears of War Ultimate Edition, Rare Replay, Halo 5, Gears of War 4, Quantum Break, ReCore, Forza Horizon 3, Dead Rising 4 and Halo Wars 2. There's also been a few others as well as XBLA/Indie games such as Ori and the Blind Forest. Personally, I think that's a good catalog of exclusives across multiple genres.

Thus far, PlayStation 4 has had Knack, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son, The Order: 1886, Bloodborne, Uncharted Collection, Until Dawn, DriveClub, God of War Remastered, The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4, The Last Guardian, MLB: The Show every year since 2014, Ratchet and Clank and Horizon: Zero Dawn. There's also a few others that I missed as well as PSN/Indie games. Like above, a good catalog of exclusives across multiple genres.

Now, I will say that I think that Horizon is easily the best game of them all and that the exclusives on PlayStation have been better overall. However, Sony does have at least three times as many studios as Microsoft has so that comes into play. Also, Sony does have all the exclusives from Japanese studios which gives them an extra edge.

The difference though is that the Japanese games have already been built across a foundation since PlayStation One. It's not going to change. Even if Scalebound was a 10/10, I guarantee that it would still bomb in sales. Japanese games simply don't sell on Xbox platforms. It's just the way that it is. When you have a competitor with the history of 22 years worth of Japanese games and Microsoft with nowhere near that history, it's safe to say that those games will only sell well on PlayStation.

Nier, Nioh, Yakuza, etc. simply would never sell even a third on Xbox One compared to what they sell on PlayStation 4.

Yeah, it would be great to see Microsoft invest in new exclusive IP's but at the same time, they have done that with Sunset Overdrive, Dead Rising 3 and 4, Ryse, Quantum Break, ReCore, etc. They simply don't hit regardless of if the game is good or bad. It simply doesn't matter.

Xbox ecosystem is more for online multi-player games and first person shooters in addition to their big three. It's just what it is.

Scalebound looked, ran and played like crap which is why it was cancelled. While it's disappointing, I don't blame Microsoft for cancelling the game. After all, they are the company that's fully funding the game and not surprising considering the developer, it simply wasn't up to par. And before anyone gets on me for Platinum Games, they basically have a 1 good, 1 bad game history when working on more than one project at a time. Nier was the good game and Scalebound was going to be the bad game. Yeah, it sucks for Microsoft and those who wanted to play the game on Xbox One but what happens if they release it and it bombs in reviews?

Then what? The minimal amount of sales that they would have gotten from the game would have most likely been even less after bad reviews.

So many gamers bash Microsoft for only having Halo/Gears/Forza but Nintendo only has Mario/Zelda/Pokémon. Seriously, what's the difference? Both publishers are going to rely on what got them to where they're at. If anything, it's Nintendo who needs to give Mario, Zelda, etc. a decade long break, not Microsoft simply because those two franchises have been around for 30 years compared to 15 years for Microsoft.

Outside of Nintendo IP's like Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Metroid and Donkey Kong, nothing else really sells regardless of whether or not the game is good or bad. Granted, Nintendo has far more IP's than Microsoft but the difference is that when you buy a Nintendo console, it's pretty much 95% for Nintendo exclusives.

Where as for Microsoft, exclusives are just an added bonus because that's not why the majority buy an Xbox brand console. It's all about competitive online multi-player and first person shooters. It's just what it is.

Nothing is going to change that just like nothing is going to change Nintendo from being a gimmick based company that never refuses to lose money, is always at least a decade behind and always so underpowered.

It's simply what it is, plain and simple.

As for Microsoft exclusives also being on PC, for a console only gamer such as myself, this means nothing to me as I still see them as an exclusive for Xbox One simply because im not a PC gamer. Sony could release Horizon on PC and like Gears, etc., it would mean nothing to me.

If anything, Microsoft releasing their exclusives on PC is actually a smart move for them simply because it should increase sales but they definitely and absolutely should completely fix their Windows Store or whatever it is that's always giving PC gamers problems with their exclusives.

For me, exclusive wise, it's actually 7 to 6 in favor of Sony and that's only counting Horizon. Like Nintendo Switch, I know what im getting with them so as long as I get at the very least ONE exclusive a year that I want to play, im good.

Scorpio wise, it may become my multi-platform console like Xbox 360 was last gen. All about which console the games look, run and perform better on.

Sorry for the long post but I don't like that Microsoft gets bashed all the time for the same crap that Nintendo does but yet, they get a free pass. And hell, im not even a Microsoft or Xbox fanboy.

All three companies have their own plan and direction. Since all three are completely different from the other two, we as gamers are those who truly win in the end.

So I can come back here during E3 when they announce the price and hopefully be wrong.
