    Re: Xbox One

    Everything should be hooked up right. I have the HDMI going from the system to my TV's HDMI 1 which is the port that supports UHD Color on my Samsung set. I checked the output resolution in the system at it's in 4K.

    So maybe it is just Logan. I'll try another movie soon.

      I had gone back to stereo for my headset because because it just sounds so much better than what Astro and TB were pumping out for their virtual 7.1.

      There does seem to be an issue in which the dashboard UI sound sometimes sounds distorted. turning Windows Sonic off and on in the settings seems to fix it, but it comes back. But once you start a game or TV show, it's back to being clear.

      I'm using a headset plugged into my Elite controller, and it is pretty great. No need for expensive 7.1 headsets. You can plug in your iPhone ear bugs and get the same effect.

      Tage settings do have an option to enable Windows Sonic via HDMI or Optical Digital, if you are using a wireless headset that way. But you need to shut off any processing. Likewise, the TB adapter is a no go, too.
      I must say I am really impressed with this.

      I got the tb stealth 500x a couple years ago for wireless connection on the couch, but after trying other headsets I decided I couldn't go without the virtual surround sound they provided.

      When I set up my office, I got the astro mixamp pro to be able to have the virtual surround sound but to use my own headphones (as the tb pair cost 250 but sure felt cheap as hell.)

      But now to be able to take my vmoda set and simply plug into the controller to get the virtual surround (and I agree, it sounds better than using the tb/astro hardware) and mic monitoring, quite impressive. No longer a need to get a specialty, expensive, yet cheaply made pair headphones to get a couple features you couldn't have had without them in the past.

        There's a handful of movies that are actually shot in 4k the majority aren't. Try watching planet earth 2 in 4k HDR blu ray and you'll be blown away..

          Yeah, I've watched a bunch of native 4K stuff from Youtube and it's breathtaking.

            What a tease, over and over Major Nelson says 'this and this looks so much different than what Scorpio looks like...' - referring to the actual production Scorpio that we'll see presumably next week.

              Also, rumors are that this indicates Microsoft may be going with Scorpio for the name.

                    @XboxQwik:

                    We’ll keep tuning Scorpio to empower creators to share the best versions of their games. Unlocked extra GB of RAM for them, now 9GB of GDDR5

                    Games that don’t use the full 9GB, the rest of the RAM will be used as a cache (making things load way faster, etc.). All games = better. https://t.co/yZTGOvBJRx

                      That's awesome!!! All Microsoft needs to do is copy, paste and implement the Xbox 360 operating system/dashboard setup and the damn thing will be near perfect. Three more days!!!

                              Not going to continue an Xbox-centric thread in the PS4 thread that's since died, but MS released some facts given the recent article downplaying backward compatibility:

                              @xboxenigma
                              Some q’s today on back compat use. Roughly 50% of xbox one owners have played, over 508 million hrs of gaming enjoyed.
