Sea of Thieves impressed me the most the Microsoft's press conference and looks like a lot of fun to play.Comment

Re: Xbox One
still not blown away by the X and this is coming from a huge MS fan. Spencer is a it out of line saying that the PS4 Pro's competitor is the Xbox one S and not the X, stupid IMO. I own both and the PRO far surpasses the ONE S and will still hold its ground when the X comes out. Spencer its all about games from friend.N.Y Mets
N.Y Giants
N.Y Knicks
N.Y Islanders
Miami Hurricanes

Re: Xbox One
Scorpio (screw "X", im not calling it that) tech wise, is easily superior to PS4 Pro but the difference is that, none of that superior tech and power means anything if you don't have the games showcasing it. The best games that did were the three multi-platform games at E3. Metro by the way was running off a high end power PC. HAHA. Sorry for laughing but that's NOT a good sign especially when Anthem looks a lot more stressful on the hardware.
I went into last Sunday hyped, pumped, excited and buying Scorpio day one but their showing was embarrassing. I was fully expecting Crackdown 3 and have said it here and on gaf numerous times that it would be the showcase of Scorpio but nope. Instead, it's some freaking cel-shaded game that requires you to play online if you want any and all of the destruction. Seriously, WTF is that?
State of Decay 2 looks EXACTLY the same as the 360 version in regards to character models and faces. All the zombies are the same too. What did Undead Labs do with all that money Microsoft gave them for the game?
I came away more impressed with a ******* little quirky kids game called Sea of Thieves and if anyone would have told me this would happen before E3, I would have laughed in that person's face.
Won't comment on Forza because well, Turn 10 is awesome and never disappoint but a racing game should NOT be the showcase for your $500 MID GEN CONSOLE. SMH.
Thankfully, I own an Xbox One Slim and will just stick with that for the two remaining exclusives that I have left.Comment

Re: Xbox One
How would every single structure being destroyable work in a single player story mode for crack down? Obviously they can't do that.
And just because a game is animated it doesn't mean it's a "little quirky kids game". Some of the best games I have played use cell shading or animation. It's really close minded to dismiss Games or draw conclusions on them just because of the way they look.Comment

The destruction can happen and then just get rebuilt in between missions. Granted, that's unrealistic but it's a video game and having all of that destruction would have been a lot of fun and reminded me of the possibilities that I haven't seen or played since Blast Corps on Nintendo 64.
It's not that im bashing CD3 because it's cel shaded. I'm bashing it because it should have been a realistic looking game with awesome destruction and effects that you know, SELL US ON A $500 MID GEN CONSOLE. Plus, it didn't look that way years ago. They changed it. The explosions don't even look that good. GRW, Mad Max, etc. have far better explosions and fire. That shouldn't be the case. CD3 was supposed to be the showcase for Scorpio. Cel shading? It's cool but can also be done on Xbox/PS2. Come on.
CD3 was a massive disappointment and letdown for me as I was expecting to be blown away by it and to see the tech being utilized of the Scorpio. Maybe I hyped up myself too much but after three years, that's what I was fully expecting it to be and do.
As for cel shading in general, I don't have anything against it at all. And for little quirky kids game comment, let's be honest, that is what SOT looks like. I'm not bashing it though. That's what the game is and has been since day one. My problem is that how does SOT outshine CD3 and SOD2?
That's my problem and concern. Sorry to compare but perfect example - Horizon on PS4 Pro compared to SOT, SOD2 and CD3. Come on Ricky. One looks a billion times better and plays great while the others, not so much considering Spencer and MS are supposed to be selling me on a $500 mid gen console.
In the end, just not what I was expecting whatsoever.Comment

It's hard to compare horizon to SOD. Horizon is one of the best looking games this gen. It's strictly a single player experience in a fairly static world though. From what I understand SOD is mainly a coop game with a World that can be altered through your decisions made in game. It's just not going to look as good as games like horizon or AC:Origins and I totally understand why.
And your first paragraph is off base. Everyone wasn't expecting that because I wasn't. I knew the total destruction was always linked to the online play and cloud somehow and I'm sure there were others who knew the same.Last edited by ricky24; 06-14-2017, 11:55 AM.Comment

Really? The few co-workers and people I talk to are mainly Xbox gamers and play online but they didn't describe CD3 as that. They like me were expecting it to be the showcase for Scorpio. Since I didn't know that, I obviously got hyped for no reason then. That's on me. Since I was wrong about CD3, I won't comment on it again.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Yeah. CD3 and it's total destruction mechanic is powered by the cloud. It always has been as far as I know.
