    My practice marriage, yes.

My wife now? No...she even encouraged me to get the X, and she in turn inherited my One S (and my PS4 when I got my Pro).

But I'm a lucky guy that my wife is also a gamer.

She’s also the one that encouraged you to get new legs

My wife really doesn't care, but to her point, if I'm going to drop several hundred bucks to upgrade a video game system that I already own, I also better be sure that I've taken care of any other joint/house expenses that may be floating out there as well.

Luckily for me, I was able to trade in a bunch of games I don't play and my OG PS4, so I got the Pro super cheap.

We don't hide stuff...but she knows I'm practical and cheap, so wouldn't waste money if I didn't really want it. Though I don't have a S or X now because I'm cheap and don't really need it.

I call her out on some purchases we don't need too, so it's a team effort lol.

When we were around 18 my now wife used to be into that high dollar make up and such. I’d always tell her the difference between that and gaming is my gaming stuff is gonna last forever unless I sell it or something. While hers will be gone in a few weeks

She didn’t find it to funny lol

I've also joked that I could be out drinking weekend nights instead and she'll laugh. It is a good hobby that keeps you at home.

I'm hooked on Subnautica now and have been fitting in like 15 minutes between bath time and tv time at night lol. Good time spent hunting for resources or something.

That's the hardest for me, finding time. I don't want to spend more on hardware when I barely have time to use what I have.

Good thing I know you've got kids, otherwise I'd have to question the nightly bath routine, lol.

I've always used the, "I could be Stuffing Dollars in Strippers G-Strings" to prove my point about gaming! Lol. When I first met my wife 11 years ago, I told her that and she was like you're right! Go ahead, Game Away! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's not so much hiding it but to avoid the conversation about why I shouldn't get it. It's never we can't afford it but more along the lines of do you need it, you all ready have one, we could do this instead, etc. And boy is my wife stubborn at times. Not that I do this very often but that's the gist in my case at least.

Alright, so having the X has hastened my desire for a 4K tv. My birthday is coming up in June, so that would be a good time to discuss a TV upgrade with my wife.

I will say that separate from my wife I have learned that I used to waste a ton of money on games I didn't play much, consoles, accessories, etc. A little more thought and being "cheap" has saved me a lot. Priorities change over time too....but yeah, justifying it can be tough at times.
