True....I guess I just don't play old games enough. If this included PS4 games it'd be one thing that made me want a PS4, but Sony would lose money if they did that. I dunno, tons of old games don't seem like a lot of value to me, but I can see how other people might love to play old games.

I love the idea that I can play PS2 and PS3 games with my PS4....but not the way Sony is pricing it.

I would agree with that. I guess I don't value the feature as much as they're charging for it. I don't think I'd want to spend as many hours playing old games as I do playing new games or watching Netflix.

For me, that's where I'd see more value in EA Access....current gen games I haven't purchased yet (because I'm stingy with my time and money now). That's for me though. If someone has more time and desire to play old games then I get how it's not better.

My problem is that older sports games have zero value to me. Access would need to make up for it in other titles. 10% discount by itself isn't good enough. I'd rather just wait for a sale and put it towards Best Buys GCU.

If you don't have access to the router then you are basically screwed. Because it sounds like they have strict settings and are blocking a lot of ports.

Yep, GMSS seems to be spot on. I was thinking the same thing.

Yeah, I'm weighing that....For instance though, I didn't even buy the last Madden, so eventually having a full stable of sports games (ones I play infrequently) would be worth 30 a year vs. having to find them all on sale, you know?

Still may get current Madden with the BB GCU discount and $10 gift card (I'd like to own a copy of Madden to have when people drop by sometimes).

Is there a way to play with the ball paths off in Pure Pool? I won't buy it if they have to be on all the time, especially playing online.

I'm trying to do this from memory, so I apologize if this isn't the exact location, but I believe under the "Profile" tab on the main menu, you can adjust the difficulty level, which affects the ball path display. On the lowest setting (default), the full ball paths are shown. On the hardest difficulty, no paths/helpers are shown.

It depends on the mode you're playing.

Online Quick Games let people use whatever difficulty they want. For some reason, it doesn't seem to pair you up with people who are using the same difficulty.

Career mode forces you to play for several days on the Amateur difficulty before you can play on Pro difficulty. Getting to Master difficulty would probably take most people two straight weeks of play.

For offline exhibition matches and online league matches, you can set your own difficulty.

Do you have to go through any kind of authentication thing when you go online with your laptop, kind of like using WiFi at hotels? If so, that might be what is blocking you. If you can talk to the tech people for the apartments, they may be willing to add your PS4's MAC address to a no-authentication required list that lets your PS4 get online. That's what I do at hotels when I have devices that connect to the Internet but then nothing works.

No, there's no authentication required. I already added the MAC addresses of my computer, iPhone, iPad and PS4 (4 devices are the limit here). The other three things are working fine. My PS4 was connected for close to a week, working fine. There was something that happened a few days back, and my iPhone wouldn't connect to the wi-fi. Don't know if it was maintenance or what, but that could be the problem. Heck, I don't know.

I also get error code NW-31247-7 when I try to look at trophies and my friend list. It says a DNS server cannot be used because it didn't respond within the time limit. Don't know if that helps matters for a potential fix or not.

Have you tried redoing the connection settings in the PS4? Can't hurt.

Also, try manually setting the DNS servers for the PS4 to like the google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or Level3 (209.244.0.3 and 209.244.0.4) DNS servers.

Yeah, I've tried messing with different settings, and every time I do manual or custom settings it asks if I want to use a proxy server. When I select no, it loads for a minute and asks me again. It's like a never ending loop.

I tried setting the DNS server to the 8.8.4.4, because I found where someone else said that had worked for them on another site. I'll give the other servers a shot too, it won't hurt to try. Hopefully once I enter that stuff in it won't loop me with the proxy server stuff.

I was just reminiscing about the good times I had on MAG. That would definitely take the cake for me. I played the living hell out of that game.

Alright, so I'm planning to upgrade to a new system in the coming weeks, and I think I'm starting to lean towards getting a PS4 even though I've always been an Xbox guy up to this point, but I have a few questions.

1. Is there a way to transfer files from a computer to the PS4 like you can do with the Xbox? For example, one of my favorite parts about NBA 2K on the 360 was being able to import custom stadium sounds. Is this possible with the PS4?

2. How is online play with the PS4? Is it any worse than I would find with the 360 or Xbox One?

3. How does the Playstation Camera compare to Kinect?

Thanks for the help guys. This is a really difficult decision for me because almost all of my friends are Xbox guys, including my brother and father, though I think I might be able to convince my dad to jump to whatever console I end up choosing, but I feel like the PS4 has a lot of games that I can't play on the One that I would really love.
