    Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

I haven't played with the PSTV, just going by the video. I would say it would be on the edge, basketball tends to be slightly less precise than baseball, but there would probably be an adjustment. I didn't play any 2k through my Vita so I'm not sure how bad your lag was (it varied wildly when things were wireless), or how lag effected the game.

Wireless is definitely great to avoid cables running across the middle of the room where it would be a tripping hazard. What I have setup is an inexpensive solution that's essentially the same; no wires between me, the TV, nor the PS4. Outlet/extension cord seated adjacent to the bed/seating location.

Controller remains wireless when fully charged, and sets up for wired charging within arms reach. Allowing me to game while charging.

        Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

I think I might get the PS TV from Best Buy this Thursday to try out over the weekend just to see what it is like. My wife is going to be out of town so I'll have the living room TV to myself to mess with it.

My PS4 is hardwired upstairs in my game room and I have a wired connection in my media closet downstairs where I would put the device for my living room TV. So I should have the best connection possible to me. I think I'll give it a shot this weekend and see how I like it, I can always return it to Best Buy if it isn't worth it. I can test it out with Madden and The Show and let you guys know. The only shooter I have is Plants vs Zombies, but I can give that a whirl too. I would put my Vita memory card in there and try those games but none of the ones I have are supported other than Need for Speed Most Wanted which I have on the PS3 anyway.

          Lol at "Trash".

I have outlets all over my house that support USB charging but for some reason they won't charge my PS controllers. Not sure why. We've used all different types of cords including OEM but still nothing. For me it doesn't matter too much my PS4 is right near me when I play now.

My kids, on the other hand, always let the conrollers die and have to constantly have one plugged in to the PS3. Drives my nuts.

strawberryshortcake, you have a nice setup, but may I offer one suggestion?

You should definitely move your trash to the other side of you bed. You don't want people seeing your trash as they walk by or when they first walk in. Just my 02.

I didn't feel the need to have a charger either. There are USB ports everywhere to plug a cable into. I use one of the ones on the TV but there's also a port on my stereo receiver, one on the sound bar, two on the Dish receiver, and of course the console itself.

My living room would have to have a lot of trash circles in the diagram, rather than just the place it is intended to reside.

They are probably set to USB 2.0 spec, which is 5v 500mA, DS4 calls for USB3.0 spec, which is 5v 900mA (DS4 actually only pulls 800mA) and they probably didn't build in a slow charging mode because it's designed to plug into the PS4 which only has USB 3.0. At least that's my guess.

Grouping the above three comments into one reply because my response is related. I think compatibility has a lot to do with it.

I just tried my PS3 controller with the wall outlet and it didn't do much. But when attached to a laptop or computer, it began to actively charge. And when attached to the USB port on the TV , it charged as well. I'll probably go out and buy one of those "extra pin wall outlet charger" (information below) for the PS3.

For some reason, the PS4 simply works with the phone charger outlet.

Plus, none of them will charge when using an apple wall outlet.

                        I came across the following:
                        http://gaming.stackexchange.com/ques...s3-controllers

"The PS3 controller won't charge when connected to any "dumb" usb outlet (where only the outer two pins are present), it need the middle two (data) pins. This doesn't mean you need a charger that can talk to a USB HID like the controller, any kind of termination of the contacts will do. This is all from memory, so I'm not submitting it as an answer. – Tzarium Jun 19 '12 at 7:2 "

Thanks. That was my first thought as well, but I omitted the door adjacent left of the bed to a secondary much smaller closet that holds my undies, socks, and gym shirts all organized into separate compartments in a sterlite stacked container. So if the trash can is moved to the other side, unfortunately, it'll block the path to my clothes.

I actually want a solid furniture piece to hide the trash (tiny bucket). Still on the lookout, somewhere. I can use the ikea betsa bur to actually hide the trash, but now I'll have to find a horizontal trash bin; currently it's holding my vitamins, supplements, and dental floss, sonic care, etc.

Thought about having the trash there as well if I made some room rearrangements, but currently I also have two decorative large vase (a black one and a crystal clear one, both with decorative artificial branches) on either side of the HDTV. It was either these large vases or tower speakers. The decorative side of me flipped a coin and vases they were.

Slinging trash out the windows works to some extent, except it keeps hitting people every now and then.

If you drink, make a game out of it. A real NBA 2k15 living room experience. One trash can, miss a shot and drink.

Should be if they use the touchpad or touchscreen.

I believe for a game to be compatible it has to be fully functional with a dual shock 3.

I always used my DirecTV receiver to charge my PS3 controllers for years, happy the PS4 has a standby mode so I can just use that now to charge my PS4 controller.
