Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
NBA 2k17 is indeed beautiful. I haven't played it on the vanilla ps4 yet but I did play nba2k16 for the last 12 months. Something feels odd with the timing of the shooting and controls. It may be ijsut need to get used to it but it feels like a latency issue. Does HDR mode create any issues with latency? Other ps4 pro enabled games don't seem to do this.

Yes to your question about does HDR create input lag on most tvs. The only ones not affected so far are a few samsungs

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
HDR has been known to double the input lag even with game mode enabled.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
BF1 is going to give people war nightmares it looks so real in HDR wow
As far as NBA2K17 the best description would be as if I was sitting in the arena holding a controller in my hand moving the real life players around, lol
Only 2 games I've played so far, other note NBA2k17 runs the fan load but that's been norm for that series
I can't wait for The Show 17 to come out for this thing next year

How did you get HDR on BF1? I've been playing for over an hour and don't see any HDR.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I figured as much because all I read was that Sony did some trickery and blah blah to get it to HDR on ps4 but the Pro version is 10x better with the hdr then vanilla ps4...I noticed it right away..Sucks that resolution is 1440p only as it does not look much better then vanilla ps4 but with the better HDR it is impressive
That is why having a 4K set yields tangible differences over 1080p which is not as tangible
Disappointing to hear that HDR on the normal ps4 is not all that. I was looking forward to seeing HDR on ps4 when I get a 4k tv and getting a preview of how HDR looks and is going to help games going forward for ps5.Comment

If I had to bet, we will see a Horizon Zero Dawn Pro console bundle. That could be my tipping point.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'm going to concentrate on new PC build first then probably wait until end of 2017 and see what the Scorpio brings.
Hope everyone enjoys their new PS4 ! Keep impressions coming!Joshua:

Yep. I've made my mind up to pass on the Pro right now. Very hard for me as I have ALWAYS grabbed the new toys right away.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Anybody else with a 4K non HDR? I bought a Sony 55" 4K the model before HDR came out so that sucks. That's what being an early adopter of technology gets you. Just curious if 4K or HDR makes a bigger difference or if they are equally important. Thanks for any feedback.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'm in the same boat. I have a 2015 Vizio M series that doesn't support HDR. Nonetheless, the games that I've played (NBA 2K17, Ratchet and Clank, and Uncharted 4) look nothing short of spectacular. There is a noticeable difference. So much so that I am now leaning on getting all my new games on the Pro vs. the Xbox One.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Is there any good way to test for latency? On my TV in particular when your TV detects HDR from the source I can no longer choose "game, cinema, standard" options for mode. It simply gives me "HDR Bright, HDR medium or HDR standard". Not sure if all the "processing" features are on or off at that point.
Dangit. Console gaming is starting to get as complicated as my PC days....which I mostly gave up due to all the hours I spent tinkering rather than playing. I have issues with choices.Comment
