Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

It's only a matter of time before there is a $399 system without the Kinect. Thing is if you're getting a Xbone then why skip the Kinect? Sure the game use sucks but some of the strongest features of the Xbone revolve around the Kinect. Xbox - turn off, Xbox - go to NBATV HD, Xbox - etc. Is it worth $100 extra, probably not. But this is why the Titanfall bundle is great.

Of course as long as the game doesn't bomb.Comment

The Kinect needs to stay with the One, IMO. MS needs to stick to their guns on this unless the One really spirals vs the PS4. They need to stick with it because, while the PS4 has a bit of a hardware edge, Kinect is a big part of what makes the One what it is, like it or not. It's only a matter of time before there is a $399 system without the Kinect. But MS also needs to knock at least $50.00 off that retail price to make it easier to swallow. Somehow they must get closer to the PS4 price point or they will keep losing marketshare.GO 'HAWKS!

I agree. One of the reasons I like XB1 is because of the standard Kinect. I think it's a cool way to interact with the user and I really hope MS and 3rd-party devs take advantage of it for gaming. The Kinect needs to stay with the One, IMO. Price wise, the XB1 has to come down. Sony surprised MS by targeting $399 from the get-go and it's paying dividends. I bet we will see that $50 drop around September this year.XBL: Mean Greene

The Titanfall bundle is pretty much a price drop considering it comes with a $60 game and month of Xbox Gold. And I'm sure a lot of PS4 owners will get the camera which costs extra. If I was interested in Titanfall, I'd jump all over the bundle. Hell, I still may get it and sell Titanfall for $40 or $50. Otherwise, I may just wait a bit longer to decide between the two systems. I'm legitimately torn on which to get, but all in all, the price difference isn't much when all is considered.

Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

It won't happen. At least not until years from now to spur sales. MS will find other ways to cut the cost and/or add value, such as their recent Titanfall bundle.. To cut out the Kinect would go against the philosophy of the MS belief that the system will be a multimedia hub and not just a game machine like the PS4. I could be wrong but I don't believe so from what I've read about it...Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

I agree Odogg and like Lt. Dan said I think MS need to stick with their guns on the Kinect. They've got to do a better job of marketing and showing people why it's worth it though. It won't happen. I was a little apprehensive and self consciouse about talking to the Kinect at first, but I've had no issues and am quite comfortable with it now and even with my "southern drawl" I rarely have to repeat my commands. The ps4 continues to sell out while the one is usually stacked in stores. In order for the one to compete and not fall too behind, it needs to be at the same price as the ps4.

I don't think it's that dire yet. PS3 got killed early on but did well. One just has to hang in there. Xbox isn't popular in Japan like PS eitherNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Yeah, it's really too early to call. However, MS doesn't care about the Asian market, they know they aren't going to succeed there. Their strategy is winning NA and UK.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions

Re: Owners of both PS4 and Xbox One: Pros and Cons

Not sure they need to 'win' either. The goal should be mainstream success and profitability. Both the PS4 and Xbox One don't seem to be on a path to have a problem in either of those categories compared to say the Wii U. There's a reason this isn't an 'own all 3?' thread.
