But this is why the Titanfall bundle is great.

Of course as long as the game doesn't bomb.
I hope you're right because I have no use for the kinect and do not want one. Maybe it's because I'm in my 50's but the day will never come when I will talk to a gaming console. My PS 4 is also voice activated but I'll never use that feature.
When I do decide to get the XB1 if the kinect is included ill use it for the initial set up, then it's going back in the box.

You'd be surprised how nice it is to use while watching tv. For example: I walk in the house with groceries, say xbox on, it turns on my xbox, tv and directv, i then say xbox watch tv, and then say watch espn, and can listen to sports center all while putting away the groceries without touching a button.

The console is literally built around the Kinect. If you get rid of the Kinect your losing about half of the experience of the console. Just keep that in mind before purchasing a Xbox One.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

I agree, and don't really see the point of getting the Xbox One without Kinect.

It's something that just sits there, but the auto login, voice stuff (even if just to pause or mute), etc are all minor but pretty cool.

I've never understood the hate on Kinect, but that's just me.

I don't think the Kinect is all that necessary. I like it, and use it everyday, but much of time I am navigating the UI with my controller or my harmony remote. I love the interface, and OT works just fine without the Kinect.

But voice control for all TV is a pretty great feature. The fact that I can be watching TV and merely say, "Xbox, go to ESPN," and have immediately booting up my ESPN app is pretty nice. Bouncing around media apps and TV really cool.

The big turn off for me was having to talk to the system for many functions in order to take advantage of Kinect. Late night when the kids are sleeping, the last thing I want to do is be yelling at my XB1 to snap or switch to TV, etc.

After having Kinect with the 360 and never using it other than my kids a few times, I knew it was a feature I didn't want or need. It was literally one of the tipping points that sent me the other way after being a heavy 360 guy all of last gen. That and MS basically said playing 655 games, over 120,000 gamerscore and over 11 years on the service since beta testing it, that I wasn't a loyal enough customer LOL

Pretty much exactly all my reasons. I was a Xbox fan through and through, but when M$ tried to pull the money grab which luckily did not succeed due to consumer demand/competition. It forced me the other direction to the Sony PS4, which truth be told they now have a loyal customer(until otherwise). If they continue to be for the gamer and less focused on gimmicky products I will be a happy PS4 owner(Side win, I get to play The Show lol).

For me doing the "right" thing is character driven. By Microsoft coming out and trying to end used games, couldn't turn off camera, and charging more for the online service, then when the heat gets so hot they throw their hands up and say "Sorry we didn't mean it, we LISTEN to you guys. Here you go". It is no different than a pick pocket jacking your wallet then when you catch them they start crawfishing "It dropped and I was helping pick it up for you".

Now with that said, I don't want to see Microsoft fail in the console race because the more options and competition the better. Yet I do want to see them lose as a wake up call, don't try and screw the hand that feeds you.

Their previous plan wouldn't have killed used games (though would have certainly changed the landscape) but instead helped move us past the plastic DRM that many in both the next gen console threads have lamented and wished happened in some form whether they realized it or not. We have no idea the extent of their plans but obviously nobody is changing their minds so no point re-living this debate for 10 pages.

Apart from the DRM, my outside concern about going all-digital is what Comcast and other ISPs would change to their current infrastructure to take better advantage of increased use while not doing anything to really strengthen or grow the network.

Well looks like I caved in. Meeting a guy who's selling a brand new sealed Xbox one for $400. At that price you can't go wrong. I was always an Xbox first guy last gen, but went ps4 due to all the mess at first. While I enjoy the ps4 a lot I don't have many friends on it like the Xbox. Picking it up in a few and I'll keep both.
