My buddy and I are making one of our retro video game trips on Saturday. We are heading to Florence, KY to visit the mall (retro game store in there but don't remember name) and then we are going to an antique mall that also has a video game store in the back called Nostalgic Video Games.

Really looking forward to the trip and seeing what treasures we uncover.

Last time I was at Nostalgic Video Games, I dropped $250!

Hopefully you'll score that red PS3 you've been looking for.

I think I'm close to caving in and buying a modded GBA (original) with the SP 101 screen (backlit) off of eBay. I prefer the form factor of that system over the SP and DS Lite.

            Re: Retro Console/Game Collecting Thread

I was going through my PS3 collection last night and realized I have a bunch of games I would love to run through again (or for the first time):

            Arkham Series
            Splinter Cell 1-3
Tomb Raider (ps2 1-3) and the reboot trilogy
            Crash Bandicoot (ps2)
            Far Cry 2
            Ratchet & Clank Future series
            The Saboteur
            God of War (ps2 games)
            Hitman

            My backlog is ridiculous.

I'm hoping to find it. Also searching for orange N64.

They are calling for strong/severe storms on Saturday which if happens, will most likely cancel our trip.

Heading back to Florence, KY to hit up one of our favorite spots in terms of retro game shopping.

Red PS3 is on the target list as well as Mario Strikers for the GameCube. Not sure what else I'm really looking for, but I'm sure I'll find something.

I went to a college in Cincinnati and spent a good many years in the NKY area. I had a conference to attend a couple/three years ago and went to the Florence Mall one afternoon - and yeah, hit up that store. Have fun!

The place we hit up is Nostalgic Games just down the street from the mall. Place is freakin amazing!

                      Re: Retro Console/Game Collecting Thread

I got the SNES mini and have enjoyed playing all the games I used to play when I was a kid. I was trying to see if I could find a NES but when I went to look at comments from people who bought it a lot of them were saying it's fake. So I guess I'm just going to have to wait until June 29th when Nintendo starts selling them again and pick one up then.

I’ve been to my fair share of game stores across the US and Canada. The one area that I always found great deals in is Florence

The Nostalgic store combined with that store on the bottom floor of the mall is great. Skyline Chili across the street from the mall! Florence Y’all water tower.

There is a good CD Game Exchange chain in Cincinnati too. I can’t remember the exact name though.
