Re: PlayStation 5
I'm glad that I dropped down to PS Plus Essential last year. There wasn't any Game Catalog game I wanted all year. I have Gamefly, so in theory I can just rent whatever game I want. But, I'm leaning towards going to PS Extra when it expires for me in mid November. Just because I had a lot of games that I had access too that I saved and I already have the money in my PS account through gift cards that my wife got for me through app rewards. So, it's not like we paid real money for it and I don't have any other plans to spend it on. With me getting the Pro next week, I know I saved games from the Game Catalog that will receive the boost. What I'm likely going to do is wait and see if there is a discount to the PS Plus. If there isn't a discount, I'm likely going to sign back up for Essential, then wait as long as I can before I upgrade to Extra so I can save a few moreComment

Re: PlayStation 5
Yeah looks like you can easily order on Amazon or walk in to any retailer and grab it off the shelf. Not too surprising. I think Sony misread the market for a midcycle refresh like this (at least at that price point anyway). But if you do want to upgrade at least you don't have to deal with scalpers (though I hope some of them did get it and got burned).Comment

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: PlayStation 5
One in the living room for TV streaming & wife games.
One in the gaming room.
Then one more for the spare room! That's the plan now.

Re: PlayStation 5
Synapse, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Resistance: Fall of Man and other titles launch on PlayStation Plus Premium.
A good PS Extra month.
I'm curious if there will be any PS Plus discounts this month. My sub expires on Monday. If there is a discount, then I'll cancel mine now, and re-apply to get the discountComment

Re: PlayStation 5
A little over a week in with the Pro and I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase. Horizon Forbidden West already looked good, but now it’s stunning.
Spider-Man 2 is a close second for me. Madden, NCAA Football following not far behind.
If you have the extra funds and high end tv, I would say go for it. No regrets at this time.

Re: PlayStation 5
One of the reasons, well besides VR was this new technology, PSSR that's being used. Those who game on pc and familiar with DLSS 3.7 and FSR 3.1 should take note when tech geeks say PSSR performs just as well, and in some cases better. It makes sense to take notice why this is premium console.....
Nvidia’s DLSS 3 has been the leading upscaling method for RTX 4000 series GPU owners, providing great image quality and frame rates across multiple games (even with ray tracing enabled).
Considering PSSR’s leap over FSR 3 with better anti-aliasing for smoother edges on objects on screen (in performance mode), it brings it closest to Team Green’s upscaler - and while PSSR doesn’t manage to surpass Nvidia’s DLSS (especially in comparison to Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart), it manages to do a great job at providing a decent level of image stability within its performance modes as pointed out by Digital Foundry.
Since PSSR isn’t better than DLSS 3, it would be hard to imagine the new upscaler standing toe-to-toe with what Team Green has cooking. Don’t let this make you write PSSR off of competition though.
It’s already a great start for Sony for this generation of gaming hardware, and by offering better performance than DLSS’ main competitor, AMD’s FSR, it seems as though PSSR has arrived at the perfect time, especially as Team Red also plans on providing an AI-driven FSR 4. There’s also plenty of chance for PSSR to receive numerous updates and improvements over time.
