Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
I have a 32X787. Strange this is, was using my 360. I didn't get the 3 lights of death, but the motor just stopped.... dead. Then when I go back to tv, I have like no red's whatsoever. Is is possible that the motor on the 360 smoking out had an effect on my television? Is it possible that maybe it blew a bulb? I wish i was a little more informed on things of this nature. I am totally confused. Have screwed with the settings somewhat, but nothing seems to bring my reds out. Thanks for your help.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Sure:
Video Status - Theater
Tint 0
Color 0
Picture +2
Bright +1
Detail -20
Energy Saver Mode -10
Color Temperature - High
I also have all the articifal picture crap like color management, dynamic gamma, and smart picture off.
These settings give a pretty excellent picture. It seemed a little dark at first but once you get used to it it's excellent.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
My blues are fine. But I have basically no reds or greens. And I didn't touch a thing. You have any idea what it could be? Anyone? I'm lost.
Edit: Nevermind. I accidently removed a few things from my cable box. All is well. I'm just an idiot. But thanks for your help.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Could someone explain the pros and cons of TV dimensions for me?
I am looking at 2 different Olevia 37" LCDs. Both are the same price but they have different dimensions.
One is (WxHxD) 36.8" x 29.4" x 10.3"
The other is 43.3" x 26" x 10.6"
Obviously the second is more widescreen. We'll be using the TV for movies, daily TV programming and some games.
It is strange that the 'shorter, fatter' TV has a higher model number. Has anyone had experience with
The links are here...

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
update on an earlier post..
my buddy did buy the 47 inch westinghouse.. he took his 360 to best buy and played on the tv for about an hour. him and the best buy employee were looking for all the nagging things that make gaming on an LCD terrible for some. niether could find anything at all. my buddy said it looked amazing. plus for the buget he was on he got a solid product IMO..
i may have to drive to my best buy and check out the 37 inch model they have.. i think its only 699 or something like that.. just to have in the other TV room.. hmmmm..Twitch

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
The two sets you listed have screens that are exactly the same size. Both are 37" diagonally, and both have a 16:9 aspect ratio. The larger overall size of the 237V is due to speakers being mounted on the sides, while the 537H's are positioned beneath the screen.Originally posted by RidgebergI am looking at 2 different Olevia 37" LCDs. Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Thanks for the clarification. I feel like an idiot for not noticing that.
Does anyone have any experience with this TV? How is it for gaming (XBOX 360)?
ThanksComment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
I don't have any first hand experience with either of these sets, but the specs look solid. Both have an 8ms response time, that's more than good enough for gaming purposes.
One thing: I saw a review ( http://blogs.tech-recipes.com/seamon...d-hdtv-review/ )
that complained about the bare-bones packaging the tv came in. The reviewer felt that if you could pick this up in a store (instead of having it shipped) that would be preferable.Comment
