I have the 32" tv that you posted. Great TV. And Samsung rules the DLP market. Great choices.

They do just as well as any other TV will do. I didn't have a problem with SD programming. Looked pretty good to me. One thing though, once you get used to HD programming, you won't want to watch anything else.

my family just got a plasma that has HDMI input.

my comcast box has a DVI, component, svideo, and normal RCA OUTputs. we just got both today and yesterday so im not really experienced with anything. my TV has those same sort of INPUTS.

we got component cables with the hdtv receiver box and it looks awesome.

should i invest in 100 dollar HDMI to DVI cables?

or are the 20 dollar generic cables at circuitcity just as good as the 100 dollar monster cables?

or am i in a good position to stick with the basic componont cables?

              its a 50 inch 5053 samsung plasma.

I have the sammy DLP, which is amazing by the way. One problem I have though. While Im viewing from my HD cables, when a channel isnt in HD, the picture doesnt fill up the whole screen, thats not my problem. My problem is that the part that isnt filling up the screen is this awful light gray colour. Is there a way to change that to black???
                    thanks

You should be able to stretch the picture from the remote to fill up that space.

The only way i can fill up that space is if i switch to regular cable from my remote. there is no way to fill that space up while i'm in the component cable input. I looked everywhere in the manual and menu mode and I could not find a way to change that colour, so I think it must be that ugly colour for some reason. Not sure why they wouldnt make it black.

there should be an option in the menus to change it to black. Or you can stretch it to fill the entire screen. I would check the menus on your cable box or satellite receiver first. That is how I change mine.

grey is much safer for the set than black. I wish mine had grey bars instead of black.
