Anyone have any idea when the prices on LCD's are supposed to drop? Also, will they be dropping on DLP and plasma's as well?

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
The HLT series was released to online stores first. Best Buy and Circuit City are just now starting to get them, but only the 56 and 61 inch sizes. I don't think they are getting the 50 inchers until next month.
Also, this may not matter to you, but the retail stores will only be getting the 87 series of these, while the 89 series will be online/high end retail only. There should be no picture quality difference, but the 89 series has a few more bells and whistles, like usb 2.0 inputs, and the HDMI inputs will be version 1.3.Last edited by SportsorDeath; 05-27-2007, 03:57 PM.Comment

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Throw me into the "Buying a HDTV in the next month or so" crowd.
My basic price point is $1000, and trying to figure out if it's really necessary to go 1080p or not. Looking on my own and at avsforum.com, seems like around that range I'm looking at a bigger brand name 32" LCD, or if I go Westinghouse or something I can maybe get 37" or 42". Is it really worth it to get the Toshiba or other big name and just get a 32"? Is full 1080p worth it, or are the 720p sets good enough?Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Dude right now Best Buy is offering 3 years no interest on all TOSHIBA HDTV's. Right now the NEW Toshiba REGZA Models(LCD) are getting good reviews.. As for 720p/1080p thing, it really depends on how far you sit from your TVThrow me into the "Buying a HDTV in the next month or so" crowd.

Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Yeah, i've been thinking about the 32" REZGA, read good things about it at avsforum, and that's kinda my default choice right now. I'll be sitting like 6 feet from the tv, so I don't think I need the massive set right now, and i can always get a new one in 2 years and move this to the bedroom or something. Just seems like quite a price jump for 1080p (usually 42" and they end up not cheap). Not sure if there are any off brand 1080p's that are reasonably priced in my range, that might be tempting.Dude right now Best Buy is offering 3 years no interest on all TOSHIBA HDTV's. Re: HDTV Questions and Answers Thread
Does anyone have the new Sharp 1080p 32"/37" GP1 LCDs? Curious about people's thoughts on them, mostly positive reviews from avsforum.
I was looking at the Samsung 42/53H series LCD HDTVs before, but there seems to be tearing and muting problems in each of those units.Comment

I just got a Samsung 19" widescreen monitor for 220, my 360 looks great on this. If you don't need a HDTV itself, just get a big monitor, you can use it for your computer too.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
