I need an HDMI-to-HDMI cable for the upscaling DVD player I just bought. I know that Monster gouges people for their cables, but I don't trust the Ebay folks selling 'em for 10 bucks, either.

Is there a happy medium? Any recommendations as far as HDMI cabling goes? I know shielding's important, but it's not like I live under a power line or something...
The AR one will work great. I have all AR cables with my home theater and couldn't be happier.

What upscaling DVD player did you pick up? I've been pricing and looking at them for awhile.

I got the Sony DVP-NS75H. It was pretty reasonable, well reviewed and handled all the different media types I was after.
I'll obviously know better once I get it hooked up (meaning that cable)...

Thanks for the advice. The AR cables look like a good fit for me - I'll go buy one from Amazon or something...

Anyone hane any input on the DELL line of LCDs and plasmas? I've been thinking off getting one for gaming and I get a good discount through my work. Thoughts?

Technically the size to feet chart states you should get the 50", but those aren't "written in stone" per se. I'm guessing the CC guy was telling you 50" based off of that.
Yeah man you're right, plus one thing I failed to mention, i'm one of those people that when they go to the movies I like to sit like 3 or 4 rows back at maximum. My friends are always like "this is too close" but that's how I like it. Now i'll just have to wait for a good 4th of July sale to pick up that 56" Samsung I guess. That's about the time i'll have the money and since it's a holiday i'm hopefuly they'll have a good sale that weekend.

I've read really really great reviews of Dell's stuff. The main knock is they're pricey but with a discount that may alleviate that issue.

i have the 32 inch in lcd for the bedroom, and let me just say the tv is off the hook. it has every option you can think of, 2 hdmi inputs, i have like 10 things hooked up to it, and as i said in another thread it can do two hd signals in the pip/pbp. they are expensive but i got 18 months 0% interest with $300 off so i think that was a great deal...

I have a really stupid question. However, being I don't know the answer, I'm forced to ask it. I have a 32" lcd, hd cable box, & a 360. I have an hdmi-to-hdmi cable. If one end goes in the tv, where would the other go?

some cable boxes dont support hdmi, might wanna check that first. IF it does support hdmi, then you plug one end in the back of your box and the other in the TV. The 360 doesn't support hdmi.

You'll get different answers on Samsung vs Sony in here I'll bet, you really gotta go to the stores to see for yourself. I went to CC a month ago and the Sony's looked better (the SXRD 50 and 60" set). But then I went Friday and Samsungs newer DLP's looked the best.

As for the 1080P that's also going to get you different answers. Most people say it's not worth it but the way I figure, if i'm spending alot of money now i'd rather spend a little more to be able to get the best. Not to mention when you view 1080i sources it doubles the frames per second on a 1080p tv, so instead of 30 fps you get 60 fps. I'd think that alone would help with sports.

Here is the tv i plan to buy in a month, the 56" DLP Samsung
