I can't recommend having your TV calibrated enough. Did wonders for my TV, and MJB seems pretty happy after having Chad do his as well. One of the best investments you can make.

But I agree, I've never heard anyone complain about blacks on DLP, LCD's on the other hand have always had the issue.

Candy, you already spend $2000, what's another $400 for the calibration, to make it look like it should

I would wait on the 1080p technology. Currently the only thing that can take advantage of that is the PS3 and Blu-Ray correct? Doesn't make much sense to me to spend the extra money on something you can't even use yet and is still in its infancy.

I was going to wait on a 1080P and just go with the 720P, but I walked away buying this thing at cost and only $200 more than what I would have paid for the 720P.

Well, you could wait 6 months and probably pay $200 or $300 less for the 1080p version as well. I'm not trying to poo poo anything, just putting my .02 in.

$375 and he does every input. It's actually very cheap for a calibrator and he does excellent work. Not to mention that he's one hell of a nice guy. It took him 4 hours on my TV, but it was worth it.

HD-DVD does as well, but those are the, and will be the only 2 for a long, long time.

I'm not going to get this done anytime soon, but where is he based out of?

He lives in Dayton. He does excellent work. You have to schedule him pretty far in advance, and he takes paypal. I had mine done in..um, September maybe? I'd have to go back and look. MJB scheduled his like a week after when he heard my impressions, and he just had it done last week.

I'm sure he does, he's went to Los Angeles before.

Just looked at his site, he does.

Cool, thanks. When I'm ready I may give him a call to get this thing calibrated.
