The reason they are doing the dream sequences is that Tony has no way of getting home in his mind while in the coma. He is trying to find his way home. I bet that once he finds the dude with his wallet and briefcase and heads home that he will wake from the coma.

I like the episode overall, Dream sequence confuses me, but oh well
I see AJ taking out Uncle Jr. This is what will start a chain of events with AJ getting into the family business.

Great acting job by James, cause in the draem sequence he has a totally different voice. Ya i can see the dream as a way of saying not being in the family. Once he finds his identity he will come out of coma.

That was very dramatic episode seriously, I can safely say Vito is not gonna make it through this season.

Nope, Vito will get it before the season is over.

              great episode

the power struggle will be interesting for the next 3 episodes or so. We know Tony survives (because of the scenes that we havent seen yet that were shown in the season preview video), but he will probably be in this coma for a few episodes.

We will see where everyone's loyalties lie in the next couple of weeks. (also, AJ is probably heading towards being involved in the "business", which sucks because i cant stand that little brat)...who does Paulie shoot next week? I hope it aint Silvio, but it might be.

imo, the dream sequence is cool....in the dream, Tony is trying to find his way home, when he finds his wallet and briefcase, he will awake from his coma.

not a chance Paulie shoots Silvio.

I don't really see AJ taking out Uncle Junior. Something will happen, either he gets caught, or he ******* out, or he messes it up.

I'm not sure exactly how it'll happen, but I doubt he'll go through with it. He doesn't seem like the brightest light on the porch. Not to mention being a POS.

What I love about it so far is how it everything is going to be tested while Tony is out. Silvio is being tested by Paulie, Vito having dillusions of grandeur etc.

Setting up to be a brilliant season.

I'll continue to watch dramatic TV, thank you. A shining MOMENT???!!! I agree it was an emotionally charged show, but they wasted a good half hour with the STUPID DREAM!!!!!!! Yeah, I was on the edge of my seat wondering if Tony would die or not,LOL. This episode-NOT GOOD!!! (IMO of course)

this isnt the first time the series has used a dream sequence to take us inside of the physche of Tony. That is one of the unique, brilliant ideas of this show.

Let's just hope this was a set up show then, which I think it was. Chase usually goes heavy with the dream thing once in a blue moon. I like what I saw in the previews.

I personally think you're looking at it just like a "stupid dream sequence". It's not just that. It's obviously a metaphor relative to the situation. You have to look at it from different angles other than it "just being a dream sequence".

Like others have said, this has been used other times in the show. Specifically at stressful points for the characters in the series.

I've watched every episode of THE SOPRANOS, and have defended it against those that said it loss steam after two seasons, but if this unique brillant idea was used on a regular basis, there would be a heavy backlash from fans. By the way, what was so good and creative about this dream sequence?-maybe they should have hired Annette Bening again.

Maybe the dream was sybolism between heaven and hell, running down stairs 7th floor of purgatory red, flames on the tv, the bartender saying how costa mesa was like death.

Alot of symbolism gotta check out, gotta watch it a few times
