I agree I think that's the wave of the future. I could easily see the day DC/Marvel goes that route with the floppies and sell TPBs on the legit bookseller market. That would completely kill off comic book stores though.

yeah, comic stores would defintely be in trouble. But everyone would have to have an iPad or a Kindle type device, I don't think reading them on the iphone or PSP would hurt too much because those screens are just too small. Reading one on the iPad is very cool though. I downloaded a couple free ones from DCs selection and it was nice reading them on it. You could view a whole page at a time or just one panel at a time.

Most of the stores (at least here in central NJ) are dying anyway. Over the past year i've lost 3. I still see comics being almost an all digital medium soon. They can charge almost the same prices (maybe less since lack of printing costs) and still get issues widespread.

Though i thoroughly enjoy my 10 - 12 month annual release Empowered GN by Adam Warren in my hands..

This is a huge problem for me as well.

I honstly would collect more than I do, but I just dont have the room.

Heck I now have a second box started here at work, just from the past couple of years.

Sounds like me and my other hobby. I literally have 6 shoe boxes, a DVD case and a small sized packing box holding my stuff.

I either need to build some shelves or find a storage place sometime soon.

OP- I recommend Shrapnel and Shrapnel: Hubris(The art in these two books are amazing imo) along with Invincible Iron Man (been a great read every month imo), and Thor (art and story). You should check out Magdalena as well as it is drawn by a very popular member here at OS and has solid art and a good jump off point as far as getting into the story. I've also liked Azrael so far as it has been getting better imo with each book.

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

                Bumpety Bump Bump.....

Anyone been reading Captain America these days? I just read the latest issue the other day and I must say it was FANTASTIC. Sure it was a bit of recap and such on the Bucky/Winter Soldier thing but Brubaker is taking the title into an interesting political/crime area now that Bucky-Cap is facing trial for what he did as the Winter Soldier. The art in the latest issue is really fantastic as well. It's similar to the art that's in Power Girl these days but I think it works much better in Captain America as the artist used darker colors and better contrast.

All in all this book has gotten VERY interesting.

Oh and the conclusion to the Spider-Man Origins of the Species story arc ended on a bit of a dud for me. Great buildup, great action but the ending fell flat with

                Spoiler

Also got myself the Superman Earth One OGN to read. I'm a little wary as it's been compared in some ways to Twilight. Goodness, I hope JMS doesn't have young Clark moping throughout the whole thing.

Honestly this whole Brand New Day era should have ended with OMIT. Anyway i'm looking forward to the new direction and get past all this nonsense and get back to a single writer on the title.

                    Indeed quite shocking.....

Well I JUST finished reading Superman: Earth One. Man, talk about sound and fury signifying nothing. It's basically a glorified alien invasion story within the trappings of Clark/Supes discovering himself and taking up the mantle of Superman for the first time.

As far as alternate takes on the Superman Origin this is one of the weakest ones i've ever read.

Though that's not to say there wasn't some interesting ideas. The main one being

                    Spoiler

It was actually the main thrust of the book other then the Clark's self discovery but it was handled quite poorly IMO.

Is Marvel online comics a good deal? Has anyone tried it? I love comics, but I can't afford $3 per title anymore. Not enough bang for the buck.

Last I heard the interface is really bad. I could tell you more about that aspect of comic book reading but well it's against the TOS.

I am going to definitely pick it up.

I heard some great things about it as well. I wasnt going to read it till Rogers came back as Cap, but I cant resist now.

Marvel Announces Death of Spider-Man By Bendis & Millar
Groundbreaking New Storyline Hits the Ultimate Comics Universe in February

Marvel is proud to announce Death of Spider-Man, the groundbreaking new story that forever changes the Ultimate Comics universe from superstar writers Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Millar. Kicking off with a prelude in Ultimate Spider-Man #153 and going into high-gear with Ultimate Avengers vs New Ultimates #1, this is the story that no comic fan can afford to miss when it all begins in February 2011 because, in the Ultimate Universe, There Are No Rules. This storyline continues in further issues of both Ultimate Spider-Man and Ultimate Avengers vs New Ultimates.

“As a group and as individuals we have made a conscious effort to create stories this year that no one has ever seen before,” said Bendis. “I am very, very proud to be a part of this storyline and very proud of Marvel for even attempting such a bold endeavor. Sit back and watch as we unveil a storyline unlike any other!!”

The most successful new imprint of the century, Ultimate Comics has continually pushed the limits of super hero comics and raised the bar for comic book storytelling, with Ultimate Spider-Man Vol.1 selling well over one million copies.

Millar added, “This is the biggest, boldest thing we've attempted in the ten years since we kicked this line off. This is the one thing that could be bigger than the CREATION of the Ultimate line and it's great to be a part of it. Being part of something like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and soon you’ll all get to read the story we’ve written for you, This should be up there with the very small number of events that really mattered. This is going to be big.”

This February, Death of Spider-Man marks the most ambitious Ultimate Comics story yet…and one that no fan will ever forget!

Meh....The first volume of the Ultimate Spidey book was quite good. The whole Ultimate line right now is pretty blah to me so I don't give a whit about this.

Now if they tried this in the regular 616 Marvel U then i'd be a little more up in arms about it.
