You may want to grab Generation Hope issue #10, but don't look at it until after issue #3 of Schism. It really suck that issue #4 won't be out until Sept. 21.

I bought the digital version of JLA #1. It was pretty good, it's pretty much all Batman and GL. They meet for the first time while authorities are chasing them (I guess they are going with cops vs heroes angle to kick things off). I had stopped getting comics more because of the space they take up rather than the cost, so I'm excited that DC is finally going digital on new comics. I'll start reading again.

I read the issue as well, just so you know the first story arc of JLA is set 5 years ago and the heroes don't know each other at all. It's basically the JLA origin retold.

I thought it was quite good though I thought Johns overdid it on Hal Jordan's obnoxious attitude a bit but it was a good shorthand way of portraying Hal for any neophytes reading it.

How is the DC Digital platform? Last time I looked at DC digitally it was a bitch to use with any kind of ease. I just wish they'd do what the er underground people use .cbr or .cbz.

          I think I said enough

Overall, good first issue and i'm looking forward to the new DC. (no i'm not gonna call it the New 52 that just sounds dumb)

Ok 5 years early makes sense. Was there something that had an intro to the new 52 that you got that from?

I liked the digital service. Easy to read and when it moves you to the right area of the page very nicely if reading on a phone our tab. I actually don't care for the .cbr comics because it its to much work to read it on a device, that's why I dropped comics all together a few years ago when I quit buying paper comics. I didn't think it would take this long though before they went digital with new issues.

              1. Nope, got that info from reading news on the relaunch. I don't know very many specifics other than a few big ticket items one of which was revealed in the last issues of the GL books and the other from said news sources. Both are spoilers if you haven't been keeping up so I will put it in spoiler tags if you want to know

Oh just remembered, Action comics will be taking place at the beginning of Superman's career and Superman will take place in the present.

              2. Ah that's cool and glad it works out well for you with your mobile devices and such. I use the .CBR because I use a home PC and my eyes aren't the greatest in the world. Maybe if I one day get a tablet I'll try the legit stuff. I do buy some GNs and such. In fact I plan to pick up the Archie Marries book soon. (Yeah I know not DC or Marvel)

I havent read many comics since i stopped reading them before high school life just got way to busy after that. Now that I am getting back into them and live in the middle of nowhere so the is no local comic shop. Digital is pretty much the only option. DC was so awful with their digital stuff so I turned to .cbr files. They are just awful to read on the pc. it just doesnt feel right, but i got one of those $99 touchpads and they are great for reading .cbr and it very easy to use and organize. ive got a lot of catching up to do.

Just got Action Comics #1 on comixology. I had a fun time reading it and it definitely harkens back to the roots of Superman. Superman here is very brash, confident and having fun. He thinks he's the man and he doesn't have a problem showing it. The cockiness is on display but I can still feel that good-intentioned Superman vibe; plus early-on they're making it a point to show that he's a good journalist.

While Superman fights for what's right (and the downtrodden), he's not necessarily going about it in a lawful way.

I'm excited to see how Superman #1 is since that would be present-day Superman/Clark Kent.

Leon I agree with you I really like what Morrison did in the 1st issue. I was a little leery since his Batman run has been so hard to understand without going a little bonkers but I love the fact that it's basically the Golden Age Superman in a modern setting.

I've read some of the other titles and they're all pretty good for the most part. The only book i've read so far (I still have a couple more to read from this week) that really didn't click for me was Batgirl #1 though i'm sure Gail Simone get things rolling in due time.

The comic that most surprised me? Swamp Thing. I urge you all to read it as it's a fantastic read. Scott Snyder has quickly jumped into my top 5 writers these days based on his strong Batman work and now this. I just have one question: What was he known for before he came to DC? I find him to be a great writer who tells intelligent, well told and weighty stories.

Man, I knew I should have picked up Swamp Thing last night. Bummer. I've only read Justice League and Green Arrow for the reboot. It's kind of cool to see the beginning for the Justice League and I'm very "meh" about Green Arrow. Still, I think it's too early to tell. I'm mainly waiting on Batman and Green Arrow to drop.

I read the Action and Detective Comics #1s. Enjoyed them both. I'm going to try and limit myself to just a few issues a month, lol. Still planning on getting Superman, Nightwing, Legion, Batman, and Teen Titans. Possibly Superboy.

I've never really bought comics before since I'm more of a trade paperback reader. This whole reboot has made me want to be a day-and-date reader though!

After picking up Action Comics #1, I'm definitely getting Superman #1. I'm on the fence with Detective Comics since a lot of people are criticizing the writer (though he has good art); consensus for DC #1 is pretty good though. I plan to wait for a few more issues of JLA to come out before jumping on that one. Never really been a fan of the team-up comics and I usually only read them when they're part of an event.

Tony Daniel isn't a bad writer considering he was an artist for most of his career and he's only recently been doing the writing duties. I really liked the atmosphere and the story told in 'Tec #1 especially the ending.

As for JLA I think you're right to wait on that one. This first arc looks like it'll read better in trade.

The digital comics are cool right? As in there's no spectacular problems with them or anything? There isn't a comicbook store around here anymore.

They are actually downloaded and not just something you read from the site? I clicked on read for a free one and it brought it up on the site.

                              -edit-

You read them on the site, not download for anyone else was wondering. Though it's not hard to get them on to your computer.

I got Detective Comics #1. Very intrested to see where it's going. I had Christian Bale's voice in my head for Batman and Mark Hamil for The Joker.
