    Re: Comic Book Fans....

I'm finally catching up on Grant Morrisons's Batman run that started in 2006. I've read Batman & Son, The Black Glove and RIP. Now I'm about to reread Final Crisis before diving into the Batman & Robin books.

Any DC fans recommend any other stories from this era?

Also as an aside, I'm reading Kingdom Come for about the 5th time. It's still brilliant and I'm still noticing new details.

This thread is the bomb! I've read very few of the great graphic novels, but I loved The Dark Knight Returns and Kingdom Come. I'm looking forward to reading some the the Batman and Green Latern titles suggested here, & All-Star Superman! I also loved the Watchmen. What are some other suggestions?
New York Giants (8 NFL Championships-4 Superbowls )
New York Yankees (26 World Series Titles)
New York Knicks (2 NBA Championships)
      Michigan Wolverines (11 National Championships)
New York Rangers (4 Stanley Cups)

Before you read Final Crisis read 52 first. While it isn't NECESSARY that you do so 52 comes first chronologically and was the event that was the buffer between when all the major heroes disappeared and when they came back with One Year Later.

Yeah I've always wanted to read 52 but it's an expensive undertaking! Even on Comixology it will cost me about $150 to read the whole thing. I'll get around to it eventually.

Who is onboard with the relaunch in September? I'll definitely read Morrison on Superman but that costume redesign doesn't work for me at all...I'm not sure about the other books. I might pick a few and see where it goes for a month or two.

            Whoa! Jeez that's expensive!

I'll for sure be reading the "family" books, Justice League, All Star Western and the Our Army at War book. The rest i'll kinda look at and see where I go from there.

I'm only going to read Catwoman and the main Batman book, but I only really read Batman when it comes to DC anyway. I'm really interested in what direction they're going with Selena. I'm under the impression too that Batman interaction will be at a minimum.

I have this sinking feeling that the new Superman costume we have seen will be used in the new movie. I Really, really, really hope it isn't.

I'll be getting the two Superman books, Nightwing, Legion of Super-Heroes, and JLA. Probably get roped into a couple others, but those five for sure. Most likely will grap Teen Titans as well.

The blu-ray/dvd of Batman: Year One is coming out in October. Ben McKenzie is Batman. Eliza Dushku is Catwoman and Bryan Cranston is Jim Gordon. Its being produce by Bruce Timm, so it should be good.

99c Superman comics for 48 hours at Comixology, starting on the 30th. So if your into digital comics it's a great deal. I picked up Birthright, Byrne's Man of Steel, For Tomorrow, Public Enemies and some of the old issues from the Golden Age.

They also have stuff like Kingdom Come, Geoff John's Secret Origin and Brainiac arcs and Morrisons Allstar Superman, so the range is excellent.

I never thought I would support digital comics but since getting an iPad I'm absolutely loving the convenience.

Anyone reading X-Men:Schism? I've read the first three and Generation Hope #10, the story seems to be picking up but it hasn't really been what I was expecting.

I'm waiting to try out the new X-Men books after Schism. I HOPE that they at least start off not being so continuity heavy like they always are and I can actually get into it. Every time I try to get into the X-Books my head hurts from being so confused and not knowing what the hell is going on!

Anyone who wants to read the X-Men but doesn't want to deal with years of continuity should read Astonishing X-Men, and maybe X-Men.(No adjective) Uncanny X-Men, X-Men Legacy, Wolverine and the X-Men, Uncanny X-Force, and the rest of the X-Men line will probably still be quite continuity heavy.

I know I do, and I think that most X-fans actually want the continuity to be quite tight. Wikipedia is actually very good for catching up on storylines for most mainstream comic titles.
