I thought that first Quiver TPB was really good, nice twists in it as I remember. It also introduces the new Speedy (his sidekick). I don't really remember much of the stories after that. I dropped the title around issue 15 or 16 and just now picked it up around issue 60.

As for the next Smallville, I don't know the actual description, but from the preview at the end of the last episode it looked like a flashback to Ollie and Lex's prep school days and why they hate each other.

Yeah I do too. You should check out Nightwing Year One sometime if you are interested in that character.

Did you get a chance to read that yet SPTO? I thought it was pretty interesting, the only problem with it is the timing. There was a story like this a couple years ago that reintroduced Supergirl, plus what's going on in Batman, and also Superman Returns. But still, this story is its own, it's not a copy of any of those, it's just familiar.

I liked the scenes in the Daily Planet, you could tell Donner was writing that part. It came across like something out of his movies. The comic teased you with Lex a little, I wonder what he's gonna be up to. Anyway, I thought it was pretty good and I think this is just a 4-issue story right? That should keep the pace moving pretty fast, like the current Batman title has been doing. I didn't really care for Adam Kuthbert's art though, kinda messy.

I was supposed to pick it up today but didn't get a chance to. I will be getting it tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think about it on here. Yes, I believe it's only a 4 issue mini.

Ok, picked it up today and read it. Not bad, it's still too early to tell where the story is going but I liked seeing Supes pissed off like that near the end of the issue. I agree the art was er, BAD. I believe Kubert is the son of the famous Joe Kubert so I have no clue what he was thinking with this very rough and undisciplined art style. Hopefully the art style picks up. I did like the Clark Kent portrayal with the Chris Reeves glasses tho. Nice nod to the Donner movies.

I saw the preview panels on the DC website. I dunno, I don't really like the art nor do I have a good grasp of this first story arc. Colour me unimpressed. I guess i'll wait a while for a few issues to accumulate and buy back issues off Ebay.

I read "Red Son" by Miller. It's a story about 'what if Superman's ship crashed in the USSR during the cold war".
It was really cool and the ending was awesome. Definately a must read for Superman fans.

I think it sounds pretty good. the comic kinda comes off as the early adventures of Superman but are still in continuity. I always seem to get the Superman books, but if the stories are like this, I'll be real happy. And I like Tim Sale's art

yeah I've heard tons of good stuff about that story but I've never read it. I've tried getting the 3 issues of it off ebay but they are too expensive. One day I'll just have to just get the trade I guess.

This might be against the TOS but I downloaded all three issues using Limewire.
I think Red Son is my favourite Superman story.

                          WOOT!

I just bought the whole Death and Return of Superman saga off ebay! I can't wait to read it all.

I didn't know all 3 trades were well in excess of 250 pages tho! Well at least that'll keep me busy for a while.

That's cool. I hope you like it. If I remember correctly, Luthor looks a little different during those days, don't let it freak you out I think the death of Superman took place during a weird ongoing storyline for him.

SPTO, have you read Donner/John's Action #845 yet? That was a heck of a good issue IMO. The end was awesome.

Reading the Hush arc for Batman. Never been a comic book reader as I stated in my original post, its alright so far, but when "SuperDog" helps arrest a bad guy, well, I kinda feel like a snot nosed kid reading the "funnypapers". Up until then it was pretty good. Also got FM's "300" and I love it so far, cant wait for the movie!
