Re: Comic Book Fans....
yeah, I figured as much. Spidey was due for a costume change since he's been wearing the Iron Man suit, so I figure Marvel thought this was a good time to bring it back.
When Smallville started getting real popular, the Kents in the Superman comics suddenly got a whole lot younger looking and had similarities to Schneider and O'Toole. A few Superman comics last year had a Superman Returns style emblem on Supes for a few issues. It happens.

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Spidey isn't going back to black just because it blends in with the movie. In the comics he's going to "a dark place" and black is the best color for someone who is "mourning".Favorite Teams:

I don't mind it, but you gotta admit it is a little convenient. I think it is a good way to get new readers into the comic. I'm just glad he's getting out of the iron costume. Is this time of mourning coming up have anything to do with that final page of a recent Spidey comic? If you read the Spidey comics, I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about.

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Yeah i'm ressurecting a thread from the dead
Anywho anyone going to buy the re-launch of BRAVE AND THE BOLD? I am, in fact I e-mailed my comic book shop and put it on my pull list. It'll be interesting to see how the distinctly '60s concept of superhero teamups do in the modern comic book universe. The first issue seems interesting enough with Batman and Green Lantern teaming up to retrieve the most powerful weapon in the DCU on the gambling planet of Ventura.
Sheesh even the plot seems like something from the '60s! I think if they play it up that way it could be one of those kitschy kind of books.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Superman, Teen Titans, and Detective Comics seem to be my favorites of the general comics these days. I meant to browse through that Dark Tower comic that Superstar mentioned last week, but I was in a hurry at the comic shop and didn't get a chance. I saw a flier for it though, hopefully they'll still be some issues this week when I go back.
Among the current releases, I'm still reading some of the comics I got for Christmas, which are stories from the past few years that I always wanted to read but never got around to it. I just got done reading the Elseworld stories The Nail and Another Nail. They are Justice League stories surrounding the concept that the Kents never found Superman as a baby, and thus the JLA never had Superman as a member. Another Nail was a sequel to the story. It was quite interesting. I also read the story Trinity (my current avatar is from issue #2 of that story) which is a story about Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman that takes place early in their careers going against the villain Ra's Al Ghul.

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Picked up Watchmen today. Can't wait to start reading it in the near future."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Comic Book Fans....
Aukevin i'm sure you read my blog entry on it. Needless to say, I enjoyed it a lot. I haven't been able to pick up my pull list items last week because of the snow/ice storm here so i'll be getting 3 titles this week. I was able to pick up a Batman Elseworlds TPB for a good price tho. (Didn't realize it was the very first elseworlds) GOTHAM BY GASLIGHT was the title and it's pretty good. I liked the first story better then the 2nd tho.
YP: You'll love WATCHMEN. It's probably one of my fave TPBs of a collected storyline ever.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I'm very disappointed tho that the mini has been derailed by such long delays. Poor Geoff Johns and Richard Donner.
