I'd assume it's to get to Sun.

As much as I hate Juliet...it was a pretty interesting episode. Didn't capture me, again because I can't stand Juliet, but it was certainly still a good episode.

I don't understand why they released Kate, Jack, and Sayid. There must be some plan other than to abduct Sun. If they wanted Sun so bad, they could have just taken her like Ethan did with Claire.

Very good episode IMO. It was a little slow at the beginning, but really picked up the pace near the end.

One question that still remains is how the Others know so much about the Losties. Ok, so we saw Mikhail in the Flame station monitoring the news coverage of the crash on CNN and the other networks. But no news report about a plane crash is going to give you incredibly detailed information about each of the passengers.

Also, when Sayid and Sawyer attempted to corner Juliet for information tonight, she told Sawyer that she knows he killed the shrimp shack guy on the night before he got on the plane. Nobody knows about that. So how do the Others know so much about everyone?

I think the only possible answer to this question is the smoke. Watching the way it scanned Juliet last week and seeing it interact with various other Losties in various forms (Kate's horse, Hugo's mental patient friend, Ecko's brother, etc) has led me to believe that it's scanning their histories and reporting that information back to the Others. I know Juliet said she didn't know what the smoke was when she turned on the fence to block it from attacking her and Kate last week, but now we know Juliet is a total liar. She knows what it is.

The smoke represents the whole key to this damn show, imo. Whatever it is and whatever it's doing are central to the Others' purpose, central to the Dharma Initiative, and central to the overall plot of the show. I want to know what the damn smoke is.

Also, the Losties should listen to Sayid more. He's the best judge of character they have.

I never thought of the smoke being the key to everything, but that theory sounds like it could very well be correct. I think as this show goes on it becomes more clear that the writers have known the way this entire thing will play out from the beginning. I know a lot of people back in the fall season thought things were just being thrown in randomly but it seems that loose ends are finally starting to be tied together.

After watching the show, I was thinking of the scene with Julie and Goodwin. Since we see that they were together, it leads me to believe that Julie might have encouraged Michael to kill Ana Lucia, not to anyone's knowledge that her and Goodwin were a couple. I mean we know Michael killed her to free Ben, because he was told so, but know we might have a better reason why this happened.

Again, just a theory I just thought of, but it's interesting.

i think theyre making it seem like Juliet is following Bens orders but i bet Juliet is gonna end up screwing Ben and the others plan turning on them and joining the Losties.

I don't know. I'm getting the idea that Julliete is a desperate soul that wants to go home at any cost. I think she's going to play both sides to get what she wants.

Look at how sweet she was in her past life but now she's willing to lie, kill and do whatever is necessary to go home. Sawyer himself said that he could see in her eyes she's a killer.

Also, I'm sure many of you have caught on to the relationships between the flashbacks and what transpires on the island. There's a parrallel between how she drank the orange juice so fast to her actions on the island. She's willing to dive in head first for something she believes in no matter the cost.

I also agree with the person who said that they need to start trusting Syiad's judgement of character - and Sawyers. Nobody can see a con like a con-man himself.

P.S. The station I watch the show on doesn't show previews. Can anyone describe what was shown?

This show is starting to wear on me. Its clearly evident that the writers have changed the story from the original basis.

Take Ethan, for example, the guy had SUPER HUMAN STRENGTH in season 1, and I bet that the explanation for that will never surface.

Jack's character is also annoying. He's arrogant and needs to be taken down. His answer for everything is "because I say so..." or "because I have my reasons..." Its just very frustrating to focus on him and Juliet when there are so many other dynamic characters they could focus on.
